Interview with SoundNinja

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrAw8z9KrOc&ab_channel=DarkAsylum Hell On Earth is a very big undertaking and a massive learning experience, especially for what it takes to do all the things required of Foley for a longer project like this which is only about 30 minutes. But I am proud of the story telling I was able to do through the sound itself, pushing and elevating the narrator and his words to make you feel the story!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working on 3 animated series under NDA, 1 EP with my girlfriend, and 1 album personally as an artist

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not that I know of sadly, yet

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital because we live in a modern time where digital I believe can compete and emulate the analog sound pretty well. Analog will still have a small part of my heart though

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to deliver my highest quality content and utilize my skills to the fullest for your content

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Being able to create music and sounds people love! being able to spend time in the studio and working on new and different tracks hasn't gotten boring to me in over 7 years now, meeting other artists and spending time with other creative music types, bragging about being a composer and producer

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: If I can make "Insert genre/style here" and 99% of the time I say yes

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That audio work should be cheap and is often undervalued for what I offer

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What would you like made? When do you need it done? How would you like to stay in touch?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Come prepared, bring us reference tracks for a song you would like us to make, or give us hints or cues as to what you would like to hear? Example: I would like the track to be in the style of Lorn, but more fast paced and using violins as the main feature of the song, it should be uplifting then drop into a dark sounding bass with choir

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Osmose Expressive E, SM7B, Acer Nitro Laptop, ATH-M50, SSL BiG SiX

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I am a certified Parkour Instructor and Gymnastics coach, and a part time Zip line tour guide. I have been making music since 2016 when my best friend introduced me to Skrillex - "Imma Try it Out" (Remix) by Jack Wall and Trent Reznor, that song inspired me to create stuff and get into audio production, however. I have been playing Piano and Violin since 2010, and now I have a obsession with creating the most amazing music I can

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Heavy bass with hard punching drums and catchy melodies. Distortion bias, and a fan of the Rule of cool. A chameleon who can create many different styles

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with Hans Zimmer. I think we would work well together to create something truly awesome, Hans Zimmer always uses instruments and voices in unconventional ways to create unique and new sounds. This is something I always try to do in my own music from EDM to Hip Hop, to Cinematic tracks, I always try to add my own twist sound

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Every song has a story, no matter how small, having that story in mind will help you keep your track consistent, make it easier to write lyrics for, easier in the naming process, faster work flow, build the vibe you want, and make music fun to produce making you burn out less

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: EDM, Cinematic, Hip-Hop, Bass, Dance

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: The creative process, coming up with melodies, building the song, transitions, detail work, building the vibe

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring creative and unique ideas, sounds, and textures to songs, I take in everything how the mix sounds, how the master will sound, frequencies clashing, when to be soft with the track and when to put some extra punch in, and how to do those technical processes, When I work with other artists I want their ideas and vibe to shine through anything I add or produce

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Normally I start with something that inspires me like an idea and run with it from there letting my creative process take over, and normally try to expand or innovate something new on the concepts

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have build my own home studio, putting up my own homemade sound dampening foam panels, also made adjustable and moveable standing walls for a vocal booth setup to suit any singer/rapper, LED RGB Light strips lining the room for atmosphere, and a couch for anyone to hang out while I produce

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Eminem, Twenty One Pilots, Logic, Joji, Lorn, Space Laces, Skrillex, Hans Zimmer, Kenichiro Suehiro, Marty O'Donnell, Token, Lizzy Elvgren, NF

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Music produced for their animated series / Collaboration with other artists on music
