Severn Duo are an acclaimed professional session string ensemble comprised of violinist/violist Jess Townsend and cellist Tom McCluskey who to date have appeared in over 1000 professional projects, appearing on Netflix, S4C, BBC and Starz. Recording from their custom-built studio, they can provide any size ensemble from solo to string orchestra.
Tom and Jess both trained as performing musicians at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and now play professionally across the country. As session musicians, they offer both recording and string arrangement services. This means that as well as recording from prepared sheet music, they can also create parts based on MIDI or audio sketches or write their own compositions for your project based on your criteria.
Recordings are delivered as individual, isolated .wav files in the sample rate of your choice and accompanied by a rough mix preview of everything together. They are recorded with a stereo pair of Rode M5 condenser microphones through a Focusrite interface with Logic X from their purpose-built garden studio.
