Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Backing vocals and lyric writing.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Typically after a client sends me his song I listen to it several times so I can connect with the melody, the lyrics, the instruments, and see what the tune needs. Once I have warmed up my instrument, I start brainstorming some ideas. At this point I find is key to keep my mind open and free of judgement. Then is when I start recording the first layer. Usually I record per section so when I finish section A I will have all the layers of section A done. The process of recording takes me several hours since I tend to change the arrangements on the go as ideas start flowing and I start feeling something would sound better this or that other way. Finally, once I have finished recording all sections I give it a little mix and download the stems to send it to the client.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly I am hired to add backing vocals to songs. I use techniques such as harmonies, doubles, layered stacks, chorals, etc...
