I'm an award wining tracking/mixing/mastering engineer and producer working in Hawaii for over a decade, both in and out of the studio, in Indie, Rock, Jazz, Reggae and Slack Key. A couple of the more successful projects I've worked on are Mike Love - The Change I'm Seeking (Mix engineer) Vishious Fishious - (Tracking/Mixing/Mastering engineer)
I've been working locally in Honolulu for over a decade. I've been involved in every step of the music making process, from pre-pro all the way to manufacturing and distribution, but mainly worked as a producer and tracking/editing/mixing/mastering engineer.
I'm offering remote composition, and mixing and mastering services
The main genres I've worked with are Indie, Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Slack Key, and Singer Songwriter, but have worked on Bluegrass, Blues, Hawaiian, House, Chiptunes, and probably a few others I've forgotten.
My primary focus with mixing is beyond just balance and presentation, but creating an engaging and dynamic journey through the piece. What is the song saying? And how can I serve that intention? Does a piece need a deep and wide depth of field for emersion? Or is it a flat, punk aggressive mix! Any and all techniques and styles are fair game! My goal is to make sure every element is showcased and tucked into a track like gears in a clockwork automaton, where each element supports and is supported in kind.
My primary focus with mastering is much simpler. Translatability. Especially in the modern music listening environment, a track has to sound good on crappy airplane headphones all the way up to hi-fi studio set ups! And care must be given to LUFS to make sure the track works well with online streaming services' algorithms.
