Interview with Iker
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the highlights of my career includes my role as music producer and composer for the Flunk TV Series Original Soundtrack for Season 3, a compelling project directed by the visionary Ric Forster and set in the mesmerizing landscapes of Melbourne, Australia. Additionally, I've been honored to co-produce tracks for esteemed music labels like The Orchard, an influential American company affiliated with Sony Group Corporation and Sony Music Entertainment, with their headquarters nestled in the city of New York.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Beyond my love for music production, I'm also a dedicated student, currently finalizing my degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering at the prestigious Pompeu Fabra University. This academic journey has deepened my understanding of DSP and Synthesis, enabling me to create a range of innovative plugins and VSTs powered by AI that add a unique touch to my productions (see AuraVox and FootPrint).
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not at the moment, I'm just starting on this platform. But I know that Josh Conway met Maria Zardoya in this platform and then they created "The Marías" one of my favorite bands, so everything is possible!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm a lover of analog synths, and I love listening to my favorite records on vinyl and running my mixes through analog tapes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My ultimate goal is to bring their musical vision to life, infusing every note with passion, precision, and creativity to ensure that their music reflects their unique essence. Whether they are an aspiring musician or an established artist, I'm committed to elevating their sound and making every project a remarkable journey.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: For me making music is like making the best drug so that people can hear it and instantly get attached to it and can't stop listening all day. I love people's reactions, and make people express themselves and feel better through music is magic.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: With over 8 years of professional experience, I've had the privilege of collaborating with hundreds of talented artists from an incredible 25 different countries!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make music that Last Forever!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I transform musical dreams into reality.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I love having the studio setup ready to put any idea into ProTools as quick as possible so synths like the Junos, Prophet, and Minimoog are always ready to be played, I also love starting ideas on guitars and then play with different pedals to obtain really cool song starter ideas, and all my other instruments and weird percussion sounds help bring my productions to life.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jack Antonoff, Ian Kirkpatrick, Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, Max Martin, Andrew Watt, Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), Michael Pollack, Leroy Clampitt, Calvin Harris, Ryan Tedder, Louis Bell, Charlie Puth, Lauv Jaycen Joshua, Serban Ghenea, Manny Marroquin, David Stewart...

A: Hey! I'm Iker, a passionate Music Producer, Songwriter, Mixing & Mastering engineer based in the vibrant city of Barcelona.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The question that I got most commonly asked is if I'm able to work on a full-length album work which I would love to do but it's a bit hard some months because it really takes a lot of time.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Mixing with the eyes and not with the ears, the most important part when mixing is feeling the sound inside you!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are some references songs that represent their sound.
