Interview with H73
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Always digital. Why spend tons of money on analog gear when you can recreate the sound digitally for a much cheaper price?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think music production is a easy and fast process. In reality, it involves attention to detail, creative decision-making and substantial time investment to deliver a high-quality end product.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When engaging with prospective clients, I ask about their project details, goals, timeline, preferred style, budget, and communication preferences.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When hiring a provider like me, remember to clearly communicate your project goals, review portfolios, prioritize effective communication, discuss timelines and availability, and seek professionalism and passion to bring your musical vision to life.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: All I need is my computer and my Slate VSX's.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began producing hip-hop and trap at the age of 10, later shifting my focus to pop and EDM. I have honed my craft over several years of experience in the industry.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I make deep house, techno and pop music.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Spend more time on arrangement and sound design than on mixing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I make deep house, techno and pop music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say I'm best at mixing and using automation to make my tracks feel more alive.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like starting my tracks with the drop and then building the rest of the track around it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in Logic Pro on a M2 Mac Mini with Slate VSX.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Big Z and Tiësto are my biggest sources of inspiration.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
