Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: That would be the album with EoT. They are extremely passionate about their music which have made me equally passionate about it and it has brought out the best of me. It has also lead to me having to try out new things and expand my ways of doing things. I think me not understanding the language has helped me to trust my gut more based on how the songs have made me feel rather than what the lyrics are telling me. I am really proud of how that turned out. My role was to mix and master the album

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I recently finished up an album with a Croatian band called EoT which turned out really cool. The first two songs in my portfolio medley here is from that album. I work on many different things really. Among other things I am getting work from several producers over in Nashville that I mostly mix but sometimes do both mix and master for

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I usually don't have any standard questions. I listen to their material and then ask about their thoughts and visions they have for it. Sometimes they might not be sure what they are after until they hear it and thats ok. I don't mind trying out different things until we get there

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: All I really need is my laptop, a nice interface and headphones haha. But I would love to bring a hardware version of the Sansamp amp because that is just one magical bass amp that pretty much always does a wonderful job no matter the genre

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: My main style is rock/metal but recently I have started to work with a few producers in Nashville which have led to a lot of country and pop as well. I love working with any style really. I just love mixing and making stuff sound as good as it can haha

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: I have lived and breathed music my whole life. I grew up with music loving parents who both played instruments and listened to music all the time and that has made me love and appreciate all styles of awesome tunes

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I mainly mix and/or master for bands and artists

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: No one can make your band sound like another band. But whats important is that you find someone who understands what you are after and can make your music hit you in the way you like it to hit you

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: It is all genre and song dependent. I let the song speak to me rather than just doing the same thing all the time. I always try out new stuff to get where I want with a mix. I love getting a challenge that forces me to think outside the box

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: I am 100% ITB. Why, because I haven't felt the need to do it any other way yet

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: That I won't give up until they are 1000% happy with a loud and proud mix

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: That I help bands/artists sound as good as possible. I treat each mix like I would be a part of the band to the point where I take as much pride in it as they do

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That everything can be fixed in the mix. Some things with a bit of extra work can of course be "saved" but generally if the source material is subpar thats potentially how the mix will end up as well

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I started mixing in the end of 2020. I had planned to start earlier but a toxic relationship got in the way of that and as soon as I got out of that I have intensely spent all my awake free time grinding until I have reached the point where I am today

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I don't have any specific names there. What matters the most to me is that the band/artist I work with is as passionate about their work as I am. I thrive on bands/artists that are super stoked on their work. That makes me equally stoked to work with them

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: When it comes to production its not gonna be a unique tip but always be thorough and never be lazy with details. It all matters in the end and if you don't give it your all it will show

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: For each song I mix I get an imaginary music video in my head based on how the song makes me feel. I then mix the song based on that video to make the mix sonically tell the story that the actual song is telling me

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My typical work process depends on the project. If there is re-amping and such involved in the mix prep I usually let it go a few hours or a whole day after all is prepped until I dive into the actual mixing to jump in with a fresh set of ears. If the prep is a quick and easy one I dig in right away

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: When I started, Jacob Hansen was my one and only inspiration. He is still the big one in my book but along the way I have picked up a few other inspirations as well such as Dave Otero, Josh Schroeder and Chris Baseford
