Born on July 30, 1994, near Stuttgart, Germany, Melissa Kross is a versatile performer with a lifelong passion for music and the stage. The daughter of a musician and songwriter, she began her artistic journey as a child model for Germany’s Pumuckl magazine and made her television debut at 16 on the popular music show Immer wieder sonntags.
After completing a 3-year musical training at the Stage & Musical School in Frankfurt, Melissa dedicated herself to creating her own productions and performing solo shows across France, particularly in Provence, where she lived for 10 years. She has been recognized with the Wasenstar Award in 2011 and the Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis in 2021 for her pop ballad Different.
Melissa has toured internationally, including Sweden with the big band Succéorkestern Astoria, and released her first original song, Dancefloor. Highlights include a guest appearance at Tom Gaebel’s 2024 concert in Stuttgart and being selected by Clear Music in 2025 to perform Edith Piaf’s Non, Je ne regrette rien for KFC on Dutch television.
Based in Stuttgart, Melissa is developing her own Chanson, Swing, and Jazz show, performing special acts as Marilyn Monroe, and writing her own songs—bringing her unique voice and passion to audiences worldwide.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A KFC commercial in the Netherlands...they wanted someone who sounds exactly like Edith Piaf and they were very happy to have found me...now my voice runs on TV and Radio there.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A commercial with a French Song in style of Edith Piaf

A: To deliver a very good sound quality with a warm and powerful voice
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: New challenges and getting to know the projects other musicians do in the world
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long does it take to do one song of 3 minutes? It takes 1 - 2 studio days, but as I'm also a performer and booked all over Europe you must understand also that if you need a recording that I can't always be available the same day as you request something.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I don't produce songs...I'm a singer and can also write a singing melody on a backing track and add lyrics.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you already have the music like a backing track done or do you want me to compose a new song?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to my projects on my website also and take care of what kind of voice you really need in your project
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Vinyl records and a record player, my recording setup and my mic...and a dog. :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was raised in a musician family...so I was singing already when I started talking and was put on a stage. Then I studied at a musical school and worked with a vocal coach from New York that has been working with the vocal coach who worked with artists such as Barbra Streisand.

A: Timeless, warm and strong vocal
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Michael Bublé would fit absolutely to my voice and style but also David Foster.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Keep the melody always easy to remember for the listeners

A: French Chanson , Swing and Jazz and also Pop Songs
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Singing in French with very fast vibrato
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Original vocals with a unique sound like authentic recording by Edith Piaf or Marilyn Monroe.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I get the song with the lyrics and melody , listen to it and then I record it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record at my professional home studio with a handmade studio microphone especially made for me by the Swedish brand Ehrlund. I use Logic Pro X for the recording.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Like Frank Sinatra and Dean Marin ..the time of old Hollywood. Judy Garland and other superstars that could sing, dance and act. Edith Piaf was one of my first heroes and will always be.

A: Recording Vocals - mostly in French in style of Édith Piaf or swing Big Band like Marilyn Monroe
