I run my own studio called The White Rose. There, I specialize in producing singer-songwriters, rock, folk, and country. I do remote tracks on electric and acoustic guitar, pedal steel, mandolin, bass, and banjo. I also mix and master for other artists.

This guy is pure f-ing gold! I'm almost hesitant to say that because I want keep it a secret (mostly kidding), but that's not fair to anyone. Can't say enough about how talented Dan is. He accented some things on my song that were somewhat theory based. I was hoping he would, though I never asked him to. In other words he has a great ear, and/or solid knowledge of music theory on top of great chops. I hope to have the pleasure of working with him again soon.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Converted large 2-car garage with 13-foot ceilings and full sound treatment. I'm running Pro Tools 2019 through a UA Apollo 16, through various preamps and mics. I've got pretty much any electric guitar and pedal you can think of, 3 basses, 3 acoustics (2 steel string and 1 nylon), and a few really cool amps.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Kiel Feher!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been in LA since 2009. I came out here as USC Thornton grad student but left after my first year to go on tour.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't overdo it!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, folk, country, singer-songwriter, some pop. Usually anything organic with real instruments!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm in the studio very often playing guitar or pedal steel for artists and songwriters. I'm also very active in the local LA music scene, performing with many artists locally and nationally.
