Interview with Johannes

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I enjoy most about my job is working with so many different and inspiring artists and seeing their vision come to life. Whether it’s a fully produced track or a mix and master, knowing that a client is genuinely happy with the final result is what motivates me the most and pushes me to keep improving and working even harder.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My journey in music started early — I began playing piano at the age of 11 and started producing music when I was 13. After that, I studied music production, songwriting, and mixing in the Netherlands, where I further developed both my technical skills and creative approach. For the past five years, I’ve been working full-time as an independent producer, collaborating with artists across a wide range of styles and projects.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work across a wide range of styles, from various sub-genres of electronic dance music to pop, as well as hybrid projects that blend both worlds.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A: My studio is based in a carefully acoustically treated room, designed to deliver an honest and detailed listening environment. I work on three-way Neumann KH 310 monitors and run everything through a UAD interface, giving me access to a wide range of high-end plugins and tools. Alongside the technical setup, the studio is filled with real instruments: an upright piano that I regularly record, as well as acoustic and electric guitars, electric basses, and various other sound sources. This combination of precision and musicality allows me to shape tracks in a very hands-on, organic way and bring each project to its full potential.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work revolves around music production, but I also offer a broad range of additional services including mixing and mastering, vocal production and comping, remixing, and more. This allows me to support projects at different stages and tailor my contribution to each artist’s needs.
