Worked with Grammy nominated producers such as SethintheKitchen (Nicki Minaj, Iann Dior, Pop Smoke, Polo G and Pusha T). I’m a vocalist, topliner and songwriter/rapper with over 15 years of experience in writing and recording lead and backing vocals.

My passion is providing quality melody, lyrics and vocal performance that sets your song apart from the rest. As an artist myself, I understand the importance of having a song that has feeling, perspective, strong and memorable.

Available for: Vocal Session, Topline, Lyrics
Genres: Pop/ R&B/Hip Hop

My process is pretty simple:
1. Message me with your tracks and as much detail as possible as to what you’re wanting to achieve.
2. Once approved, I will start on your track, come up with melodies and lyrical ideas.
3. Then I will record at my own studio or book sessions (I work with top tier mixing and mastering engineers) to record, edit and finalize everything for the first draft.
4. Once we’re both happy with the song, I will send all stems (both processed FX and dry).

Nile was great from start to finish. He was very great with response time and made the process feel more like a collaboration. I’m coming back to him for the next song. Thank you Nile!

One of the best on soundbetter. Nile took my ideas and turn them into a beautiful song. He made the process very smooth. I can’t wait to release my song for people to hear it. Can’t wait to start the next song with him too. Definitely recommend.

Interview with N

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: Giving songs that honest, raw, and that aims to connect with the listener.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I like being of service and feeling like I'm doing my purpose in life.

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: That it's very easy and that anyone can do it. It is about quality for me. Trust me, I put my hours into this and continue to. It's so much more than just a hit song. It's about the song having longevity.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: What is the story that you want to tell? How does the song develop? What is the feeling that you want to convey? When you ask those type of questions, you never get lost in the writing process.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Make sure that the provider is about you, not them. My job is to offer my services and to make sure at the end of the day...you enjoy the song. And that it's the best representation of you as an artist. I used to hire providers, but it never felt like my song at the end of the day. I want to make sure that we both can be proud of it for being honest and authentic.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: Well if it was me, I would bring a lifetime supply of lighters and an excellent swimmer. haha. Honestly a good amount of portable phone chargers to be about to listen to the music and projects saved on my phone.Thats probably it.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I have been doing this for over 15 years. If I'm being honest, I fell out of love with music a years back because my priorities were in the wrong place. I was so focused on having a "hit" song that I forgot about my love for the music. So I took some time away to focus on resetting and falling back in love with it. Kinda like teenage years when music saved me in so many ways.....it was the best thing that I could do. I love it more and appreciate it more than I did back then.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: I like more classic themes with a touch of contemporary. The main thing I love is actual song structures in pop and r&b music. It's always changing and evolving. So I like studying songs (past and current) and seeing what I can use and incorporate it in my own way.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: I would love to with Timbaland and Mark Ronson. They both have eclectic bodies of work. They have produced so many different genres and worked with so many artists. I would love to work with them with no limits and no care about what's trending with sound.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Less is more. Most times I love having proper pocket of space in songs for the vocals. I want the vocal performance to be the main focus.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: I tend to work on mainly pop, alternative r&b and hip hop. My favorite music era is the mid 2000s. I always go back to reference that time period.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: Creating melody and story concepts. It's mostly about what do I want to talk about in the song.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: Transparency and being vulnerable and honest. I feel like it connects more to the listener. I think that's why I love people like SZA and P!nk..It's not always about having a completely polished song about love. Its about introspection, about being unapologetic and showcasing who you are as a person. I tend to write more about the hardships, realizations, heartbreak and the inner depths of love.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: My typical work process is focusing on melody first. If you have a solid and strong melody, you can do anything. It makes or breaks the song. Sometimes I freestyle while listening to the production..sometimes I work around the lyrics that I already have..most times I want to create the hook first and build the song around that.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: I have my own home studio that I created during the pandemic. It allowed me to have complete freedom and not have to wait on the creative process. I always tell my friends and colleagues to start doing some things on your own. The most important is to build a small structure of the direction that I want to explore.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: There are so many...from singers like Brandy, Frank Ocean, SZA, Bruno Mars, Pink, Skylar Grey...to writers James Fauntleroy, Diana Gordon, Emeli Sande..to producers Ryan Leslie, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Mark Ronson, Rick Rubin..and to the great lyricists like Nas, Fugees, Ms. Lauryn Hill, J. Cole and Kendrick. I'm inspired by studying and listening to a diverse collection of genres. I always want to remain humble and remain a student more than anything.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: Session singing and songwriting. My current love is songwriting. It's always something to learn and I have a lot of respect for writing in all genres. There is always something to grab knowledge and art from. I love challenging myself and evolving as a vocalist and writer.
