Endorse Andreu MarquèsAndreu produced my first album, and boy, did I make the right choice! His versatility and musical and technical prowess make his work sound polished, rich, and alive. He’s always full of fresh references, bringing finesse and artistic taste to everything he works on. But what truly sets Andreu apart are his empathy and how he takes the time to understand where your songs come from. The process just feels so personal and supported! Plus, he finds the perfect balance between creative flow and efficiency. If you’re looking for someone both highly skilled and deeply committed, Andreu is your guy!
I produced my first EP with Andreu and the experience was great. He really understood and respected my sound and we collaborated creating a great first piece. I later produced with him again for another single and it turned out to be a breathtaking song. The sound is always crisp and immaculate and Andreu treats you like a family member while in the studio.
Thank you!I'm working with Andreu for 5 years, as a producer, sound enginering and mixer. I'm so satisfied with his results, how he listen my sound idea and and takes it to the next level. He is fast, great comunication and very accurate. Also he can deliver the song by clues or stems, so important for my live performances. I recommend him 100%, I will continue working with him.
It is great to work with Andreu! Easy communication, effective workflow and always really nice results!! He has a lot of experience and knowledge, and the best is that he is also a musician (drummer) and he has good taste for making the right decisions while mixing and producing. I definitely recommend him!
Interview with Andreu Marquès
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Communication, timing and sound.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I embrace both worlds. Digital provides incredible flexibility, accessibility, and precision, which are invaluable for modern production. On the other hand, analog encourages commitment and decision-making during the creative process, adding a sense of authenticity and character that I truly appreciate.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am a musician and producer based in l'Empordà, Catalunya, with several years of experience in the music industry. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with various artists, providing production, mixing, and performance services. Some of my recent projects include 'How Long Are We Supposed To Wait' by Au Rora, 'Nada Atrás' by Álvaro Belchí, and 'A Miami' by Tacho. My work is characterized by a commitment to enhancing the artist's message and delivering high-quality productions that resonate with audiences.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Focus less on having the perfect recording setup and more on the core message of the song. A compelling idea or emotion will always outshine technical perfection.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My main goal is to amplify the artist's message while prioritizing the lead vocal as the emotional center of the song. I listen carefully to the artist's needs and ensure every element supports their vision and intention.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts with a conversation to understand the artist’s vision and emotional intent. I then gather references, prep the session, organize tracks, and set proper gain staging. I focus first on the vocal—making sure it leads the mix naturally—then shape the supporting elements with depth, tone, and cohesion to serve the song as a whole.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on many different styles. Maybe the common line is that they are quite vocal focused.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is designed for precision and musicality. It features acoustic treatment, high-end microphones, analog gear, and a hybrid digital/analog workflow that ensures mixes translate across all systems. Whether I'm mixing tracks I’ve produced or material from other artists, I focus on clarity, depth, and emotional impact—always serving the song.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Daniel Caesar, Jordan Rakei, Larnell Lewis, Jill Scott, Andy Shauf, José González, Olivia Dean, Sampha, Michael League, Steve Jordan
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: In today's world, access to music technology is widespread, and many individuals consider themselves mixers or producers. While this democratization is positive, not all paths lead to the desired outcome. I recommend listening carefully to the provider's samples and assessing whether their style and quality align with your artistic vision. It's essential to find someone who not only has technical skills but also understands and respects the message you wish to convey through your music.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Do my best, no matter the time it takes. No compromises.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Vocal-focused, rich and with character.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I’m usually involved in the full creative process, but mixing is where I bring everything into focus. I work closely with clients to shape the sonic identity of each track—balancing vocals, enhancing emotion, and making sure every element serves the song. My mixes often blend live and programmed drums, always aiming for a sound that feels musical, cohesive, and ready for release.
