Interview with Marc
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: This latest project I'm working on has taken a great turn since the vocal recording phase and has become something very professional, while still staying true to its initial essence. Similarly, my song with Jordan Grace, where I only received the vocals and worked solo on the entire project, from melodies and arrangements to harmonies... This is why I aim to focus on collaboration rather than just a simple request.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a song with Bailey Jehl, especially in the mixing and mastering phase. Additionally, I have several composition and arrangement projects with different artists.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Austin Leeds & Charlie Cooper definitely.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital offers precision, versatility, and ease of use. It’s perfect for clean, polished, and highly detailed productions. Digital platforms also make it easier to edit, manipulate, and automate sounds, which is especially useful in genres like electronic music or when you need maximum control over the mix.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients is to always bring passion, creativity, and dedication to every project. I will work closely with you to understand your vision and ensure that the final product reflects your unique sound and ideas. I’m committed to delivering high-quality music, meeting deadlines, and providing a collaborative, supportive experience throughout the process. Your music is my priority, and I’ll do everything I can to help bring it to life in the best possible way.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most about my work is dedicating myself to music, being able to help create unique songs, and that feeling of happiness when you hear a great melody or have an exciting project in the works.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What experience do you have as a producer? I have over 10 years of experience in music production, working across a variety of genres and styles. My approach is based on versatility and creativity, always aiming to achieve a unique sound that aligns with the artist's vision. What type of music do you produce? My style is versatile and blends different genres, allowing me to adapt to what each project needs. From electronic music to pop, hip-hop, or even more experimental sounds, I always strive to create a unique and authentic atmosphere for each project. What is the cost of your services? The cost depends on the scope of the project, the duration, and the specific services required (production, mixing, mastering, etc.). I’m happy to offer personalized quotes based on each client’s needs. The key is to work together to ensure the project fits their vision and budget. How long does it take to finish a song or project? The delivery time depends on the complexity of the project. A single can take anywhere from a few weeks to a month, while larger or more complex projects may take more time. I always aim to set clear deadlines and stick to them to ensure the project is ready when needed. Can you help with the creative side or just the technical side? Yes, I can help with both. My approach is both technical and creative. I’m not only responsible for production and sound engineering but also offer creative guidance regarding the structure, arrangements, and overall aesthetic of the song, helping shape your musical vision.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: One of the biggest misconceptions about what a producer does is that many people think their role is simply to "make the music sound good" in the studio. While the technical aspect is important, a producer's role is much broader. The producer is also responsible for guiding the creative vision of the project, making key decisions about the song's structure, arrangements, musical style, and, in many cases, working closely with the artist to help them express their ideas and emotions in the best possible way. Additionally, producers often handle project management, from coordinating the work of musicians to ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. A good producer can also be a counselor, a mentor, and a source of inspiration, helping the artist enhance their performance and musical vision.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your vision or concept for this project? What style or music genres would you like to explore in your music? Do you have any musical references or artists that inspire you? What is most important to you in the production process? (Sound, creativity, timeline, etc.) Do you have any preferences for how you would like your music to be produced (e.g., in the studio, remotely, etc.)? Who is your target audience, or what image would you like to project with your music? Do you have a set budget for the production? Are there any specific instruments or elements you'd like to include in your music? Do you have a specific timeline for releasing the song or complete project? What would you like to achieve with this collaboration, and how would you like me to support you throughout the process?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you're looking for a producer, I would recommend finding someone who not only has technical skills but also a strong ability to understand your vision and musical needs. A good producer should be versatile, creative, and able to blend different genres in a unique way, so your music has a special and authentic atmosphere. It's also important that it feels like a collaboration, where the producer listens and works with you to ensure the final result truly reflects your art.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Portable power generator, audio interface, monitors, and portable Wi-Fi.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Martin Garrix, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, among others, for all the inspiration they have given me and the strength to keep moving forward and fight for my dreams.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been producing for over 10 years, what simply started as a hobby led me to dedicate myself and learn from the most professional with the goal of giving my best.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A versatile and unique style, blending different rhythms and elements to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Contact me and i will share more than one 🤫
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic music (all possible genres), pop, trap and rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I blend electronic elements with orchestral dynamics, offering multiple approaches to the same song. My goal is to create powerful sensations by exploring different styles and combining them in unique and meaningful ways.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: As a music producer, I bring more than just technical skills to a song. My goal is to transform ideas into complete pieces, paying attention to every detail from composition to the final mix. I can create custom melodies, rhythms, and arrangements, add unique textures and effects to enhance the sound, and ensure the song meets professional standards. My approach is always tailored to the artist's style, offering a fresh and collaborative vision to deliver a result that exceeds expectations.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process begins with getting to know the artist on a deeper level, understanding their vision, and immersing myself in their unique style. I believe this connection is key to delivering authentic and personalized results. Next, we engage in a detailed discussion about the type of production they want, collaborating closely to shape the foundational elements such as melody, main rhythms, and overall style. Once the direction is clear, I focus on crafting the dynamics and presenting a semi-professional version of the track. This stage includes more detailed arrangements, giving us a solid framework to refine and perfect the sound together. Finally, we fine-tune every element until we achieve the polished, professional-quality production that truly brings the artist's vision to life.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I’ve been building my studio from a young age, constantly upgrading it to achieve the highest professional standards. My setup includes an Apollo audio interface, a MacBook Pro optimized for production, and top-tier production software loaded with high-quality plugins. I work with professional studio monitors, premium guitars, and high-end MIDI keyboards to ensure versatility and creativity in every project. Whether you're looking for cutting-edge production, pristine sound quality, or a collaborative creative process, I have the tools and experience to bring your music to life.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Martin Garrix, Aviici, David Guetta, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, The Chainsmokers, Ludovico Einaudi,...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I will take your idea to the next level. I can produce your entire track based on your own idea or just fix everything and turn it into professional quality. From the very beginning, we will create a strong team to work on your music together.
