Creative drums, percussion, acoustic live loops and sounds for your songs.
I’m a drummer and percussionist based in Hamburg, Germany.
I’d love to help you creating the drum and percussion parts for your song. After finding out what approach you’re looking for, I will take a deep dive into my instrument collection. It consists some of the finest drums out there, like Craviotto’s, A&F drums, AK drums, Vintage Ludwigs, or single bass and snare drums from Sonor, Yamaha, Noble & Coley and others. A variety of amazing Istanbul Agop cymbals, tons of percussion, as well as special treated drums are available right on the go.
The main recording room is dry and focused in sound, so that basically a lot of sound options are possible here. Additionally there is a bigger live room available next door, which sounds fantastic for acoustic instruments like drums.
I do record with Coles 4038, Lauten‘s, Josephson‘s e22s, United 47 FET, as well as the classics (Beta 52, SM 57, MD421, etc.). My recording setup consists of Universal Audio interfaces & preamps, Neve style preamps and others. I track everything with UAD LUNA or Logic and my setup is remote ready with Sessionwire.
I’m looking forward to get in touch with you.

He knows exactly what the song needs and with his exceptional drums skills combined with a
great choice of drums and mic’s he delivers ready to mix files every time. After more than 10 songs working with him I can say he’s my go to guy.I highly recommend Marco.
Looking forward to the next collaborations!
Marco recorded all the drums and percussion for my last two albums. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Marco delivers first-class sound quality and tasteful, creative and song-oriented grooves. He has a high level of musicality and pays attention to every little detail. He is a super nice guy and always a pleasure to work with. I can highly recommend him and will definitely work with him again!
Hello , I worked with Marco on many succesful records that I produced and I am a big fan .Marco is a tight , groovy player with an open mind and a great sound .He can play all styles as far as I know and he always brings something special to the song , so that I would always enjoy to work with Marco . He ads something that makes your songs better . Also he is a very nice guy and easy to work with .
Interview with Marco Moeller
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Finding and nailing every single note with the right sound at the right spot of a song. Find out and understand people’s vision in order to create drum & percussion parts they are looking for.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both do have their own advantages.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I´ve been a professional drummer since almost 25 years now. I have had a lot of experiences in all kinds of different studio, as well as live scenarios. I’ve always been focused on playing the song, always focused on getting the sound, the groove and the feeling. A couple of years ago I started to get more and more into the engineer world, as I wanted to be able to record myself in order to develop my sound more and more.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Get the sound at the source right first, always follow your inspiration and sometimes less is more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Pop - Rock, Singer Songwriter music, Folk - Acoustic, Country, Indie Pop, Soul, Reggae, R&B, Blues, Instrumental, Jazz, Electronic
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Song orientated playing, finding creative drum & percussion parts, consistency in playing and sound, being a teamplayer.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creating musical drum and percussion parts, that sound great and support the song a hundred percent.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all, having a conversation with the client to find out exactly what the client is looking for. Then starting the creative part, searching the right sound, starting right at the source: The right instrument in the right tuning and treatment. My goal is to support the song and find the best sound, groove and approach for each song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My main recording room is a small, dry and focused sounding room, where a lot of styles and sounds can be achieved. I am lucky to call some of the most amazing drums my own. I know every drum very well, so I will have the perfect answer for every situation ready to go. Right next door in the same building there is a bigger live recording room, which sounds fantastic and can be rented additionally on a daily basis. After finding an appointment, live remote sessions via Sessionwire are available. I record everything via my Universal Audio interfaces, working mostly with UAD LUNA.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I´m inspired by drummers like for example Matt Chamberlain, Jim Keltner, Joey Waronker, Aaron Sterling, Ash Soan, Steve Jordan, Ringo Starr, Abe Laborier Jr., Steve Gadd, and a lot of more amazing song and groove drummers.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: First of all, finding out what the clients vision for a song might be in a conversation. After getting the idea, take a deep dive into my equipment arsenal to find the perfect sound, groove and feel for each song.
