Interview with Adrian Espinoza (Kabizma)
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I always strive to give my best because of my love for the craft which means giving everything I can for anyone I work with.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I truly want to do my part to advance the world in creativity as its the one thing I truly love and so I enjoy being able to help others in their creative passions.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Very rap/trap fused with electronic and even experimental at times.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Listen to your gut when you're getting creative with a sound to let your style really shine through. Never think you have to give up on a sound, always give it a moment to breathe so that you can re evaluate it. Always make in between saves of the sounds/productions you're working on so you can go back to a sound if you need to so its never too late to change something (I've learned this the hard way).
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically tend to hover in the range of rap/trap/electronic/experimental but I am interested in working on more than that. I also desire to gain opportunities to work on soundtracks for gaming.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think differently with ideas and I have a strong quality of never giving up and seeing things done to the end and to the best quality.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A big skill of mine is my endurance to keep working on an idea if I'm not 100% behind it and there is always a way to continue working and improving. I have a deep ambition to finish the work I start and to always leave something better than the way I found it. I bring motivation and inspiration to each project I come into as its a new possibility to create something special and unique between me and the client.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Logic Pro X is my daw of choice and my workflow for music specifically is done on a 2022 Mac Studio.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Skill in the likes of Kendrick Lamar, consistency in the likes of Emery, Variation in the likes of Gorillaz, Thinking different and out of the box in the likes of 100Gecs, drive in the likes of RL Grime. These are just a few examples of artist and the quality in them that inspires me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing an entire beat for an artist, a song for soundtrack such as a video game/channel, a one shot sound or loop for a producer or editor, or offer advice from my experience.
