Mark Indigo

Guitar & Didgeridoo

Mark Indigo on SoundBetter

Hi! My name is Mark and I am a didgeridoo and an acoustic guitar player. I helped produce tracks with Audite Marlow, Fem, Wouter Mol and Catherine Mooreland, as well as creating all my solo tracks. My unique specialization is creating spacy guitar and didgeridoo drones and applying them into your track, just the way you love it.

I worked as a music therapist, session musician, street musician, live sound engineer and studio engineer. I am a multi-instrumentalist who loves producing tracks as well, from the ground up. This way I produced my own tracks from playing all instruments to recording, mixing and mastering. I also love to make creative additions.

Music is medicine for the soul – and that is my main focus. I have seen many times how powerful music and sounds are. My goal is to connect people and make the world a better place through music. Does this attract you? Contact me through the green button above!

I would like to specify my offerings a little bit further. I play acoustic guitar rhythmically with a flatpick. I also play solos (with or without effects, especially the Wah effect is tremendous) and I play fingerstyle in almost every style. Recording and (stereo) mixing acoustic guitars is my specialty.

I also play multiple didgeridoos. The ones I own are in the keys of C# and B, but can be modified to any key of your liking. They can drone forever, using circular breathing, or they can be played rhythmically. I imagine a techno track with rhythmic didgeridoo, or a soothing atmospheric space drones for your nature documentary. Or anything in between. Or the combination with spacy guitar chords. Your imagination is the limit.

In the mp3 you can find four snippets of my musical works!

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Mark Indigo

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I recently worked on a collaboration with Audite Marlow, a cool reggae track (that's about to be released) providing singing lines and spacy acoustic guitars. I also produced my own track, involving a collaboration with Fem on vocals. Learned to play the cello for that, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered the whole thing myself. It's called "Morning Affirmation" and the release date is 27th of Juni 2025.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working on producing beats for live-looping street events involving didgeridoo and percussion. I'm working on recording and producing a beautiful track of Fem, and working on my own tracks as well. I recently started working on oldskool hiphop productions.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I would definately recommend Tara Pasveer for ethereal female vocals to my clients.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, analog FX can be added later. Digital because it sounds so crisp and clear. Besides that, I just LOVE acoustic instruments in recordings because of the aliveness they give a track. That's a bit analog as well, isn't it?

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I'm happy when you're happy.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Is this considered a job? Yes, of course it is, but it doesn't feel like one. That's what I like the most about this job.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Can you produce beats? - Answer: yes, definately. Can you do something if I say "I wanna let the bass sound like this, padada dadada twangg" - It's not the standard notation, but I can definately give it a go! Can this be finished before Christmas? - It depends on the date, but most of the cases, yes.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Maybe the biggest misconception about what I do is that I am not in a top listing on Soundbetter, because I'm unexperienced. I play music for all my life and have been writing, recording and producing songs since at least 20 years already. Besides that I have a good ear and I listen very carefully to your wishes.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What feeling do you want to bring through this piece of music? What exactly do you want me to do? How do you want this piece of music to sound? When is the exact deadline? What is the goal of this piece of music?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be clear about what you want, how you want it and when you want it to be finished. Dare to be honest - that way the collaboration will have the highest potential.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: 1. My Taylor 214CE 2. My Tascam Model 12 3. My Boss RC-600 4. My Wavedrum Oriental 5. My Wavedrum Mini

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I have been recording like forever, but only recently decided to do this as my job. I recorded and produced my own music, my bands and helped other people with their recordings and productions.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Eclectic and with a lot of variety

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Xavier Rudd, because he is my biggest inspiration. TribalNeed because I just love what he does and he is true to his own (awesome) sound. Fem because she has the best female voice in history.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: If the recording is good, the production is good. Don't overdo it.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on pop, reggae, dance and techno music.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is playing, recording, mixing and mastering acoustic guitar.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring aliveness, variation and - if necessary - extra groove and depth to a song.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I typically start with the framework of the song, and build further from that. If the framework is already finished I start improvising and trying out some different musical instruments in different styles onto it, depending on the wishes of the client in combination with the feel of the song or musical piece.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I use multiple musical instruments - including acoustic guitars (Taylor and Eastman), an electric guitar (Telecaster), a Fender bass, two handpans, a collection of didgeridoos, a Wavedrum, Roland drumpads, a cello, and a big variety of acoustic percussion instruments. I use Tascam multitrack equipment for recordings (studio & field), and a variety of microphones and contact elements.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Xavier Rudd, Waagal, Mezerg, TribalNeed, Klangphonics, Markus K, Fem, Audite Marlow

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Guitar & didgeridoo recordings, productions
