Andres Ollari on SoundBetter

Hi! I'm a professional musician specialized in recording melodies, improvised solos, or composing, arranging and recording horn sections. I have a great amount of experience recording and would love to be a part of your project!

I play trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone and french horn. I also work with a great team of players to provide all the horns you need at the same place: Soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, tuba and harmonica.

You can ask me to play a specific line or you can ask me to create a melody or an improvised solo for your track. I can also compose, arrange and record horn sections with any combination of horns.

I guarantee professional quality work that will exceed your expectations and I can deliver your tracks really fast if needed.
I record with an Apollo Twin USB duo Heritage audio interface from Universal Audio, with Electrovoice RE20, AKGC414 and Shure S58 microphones and a Focusrite Isa one preamp.

Interview with Andres Ollari

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: I usually work on Jazz, Rock, Pop, Latin and musical theatre songs.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: To be responsible and answer and deliver fast doing my best with the song.

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: I try to bring some feeling into the song so that the horns don´t sound like computer made and also try to blend in with the song and the groove.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: My work process would begin by listening the whole song I will record at least 3 or 4 times. Then I would start writing the arrangements if they don´t send them to me earlier. Once I have the music lines I usually record the lead instrument (trumpet most of the times) and then the trombone or sax or the rest of the instruments required for the gig trying to get the same expression than the lead instrument.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I record with an Universal Audio Apollo Twin duo heritage audio interface, a Focusrite ISA ONE pre amp, an AKG C414 and an Electrovoice RE20 mics, and Adams T7v studio monitors.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: I usually work with a friend called Patricio Bottcher that is a excellent musician and great proffessional. I also really admire Quincy Jones productions and he would be someone who inspires me.

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: The most common type of work I do for my clients is recording brass sections (trumpet, trombone and tenor sax). Sometimes they send me the music sheets or midi lines and sometimes they ask me to arrange for them.
