Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I'm finishing the production of Dumanic's 5 track EP, an artist from Zurich.

A: I'd recommend Tom DuPree III.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: Every project has something special and it is always an opportunity to keep learning. But recently I've produced two songs for my new band here in Barcelona. They are the beginning of something new in my career and life, and that makes me really happy and full of excitement about the future and things to come.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: The idea is to take the best out of both worlds and try to find a balance even though nowadays digital provides a lot of possibilities making music production a lot easier.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I promise the clients to get involved 100% in the project putting my heart, mind, and soul into it.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The fact that I work on my own terms and I have all the time in the world. But the most precious thing is when a customer tells you they are happy with your work.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: The most frequently asked question might be if I can make a song following the references and inspirations the've sent.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That it's easy and simple. And it's not like a serious 9-to-5 job.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: Mainly the idea of the song they have in mind and references. Deadlines and budget as well.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: To listen to my material and contact me immediately after that. Now seriously. Be clear about the project, provide references, be considerate and friendly if possible. I like to be respectful so I'd expect the same in return.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My main laptop, my guitar, audio interface, midi keyboard, and monitors.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: In my mind, I've been doing this forever. But realistically, I started as a full-timer a couple of years ago and more intensely over the last year after settling in Barcelona.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I feel my area would be a song-structure type of music production, keeping it simple and catchy. One word I like to use a lot when it comes to music production is subtle. But hey, boundaries are meant to be broken.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: The Cure and New Order. They've been a massive influence on me. The way they have of approach song making process is just amazing, I feel I could learn loads from them.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Sometimes music production is like cooking. Do not add too much of everything to it. Otherwise, it's ruined.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Dream-pop, post-punk, shoegaze, indie, and all types of bedroom kinda sound.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Ears to listen to both the client and the sounds we are getting. Hard work ethic as well as responsible time management, meaning being respectful of the timeline project as well as the client's time. You count on me from day 1 right up to the end and beyond.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I simply turn an idea into one and I'd try to add a different and original sound approach.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: As I've already said, the first step is listening and understanding the idea, then I'd make a sketch of it and send it to the client. If I have green light, I move on to finish it and let it ready to record overdubs if needed. One last revision and ready for mixing and mastering. Pretty simple, pretty straightforward.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: It is pretty simple, it is a bedroom pop/indie type of studio so that's why it is perfect for the style I'm offering.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I do feel inspired by both old-school producers and modern ones. I take every influence as valid as long it fits in my workflow.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I basically seat down and listen. I work really hard to understand what the client has sent and what is he seeking, what are the goals and the thinking behind that idea.
