Hybrid Percussion Creator
Coming from the depths of Arabic culture, Ayman Mabrouk grew up listening to and exploring many different Oriental music styles - such as Egyptian, Turkish, North African, Persian and Gulf Arabian - which have formed the basis of his musical work today.
He started working professionally as a percussionist with some of the most respected bands of the traditional Oriental music scene. He soon established himself as a sought-after musician, well known for his authentic grasp of Arabic, Jazz, Flamenco, African and Latin American music. Within a few years he had been featured on several television shows as well as at Jazz and World music festivals in more than twenty countries around the world.
While continuing to master a large variety of percussion instruments, Ayman mixes Darbuka, Riq, Dohola, Frame Drums, Cajon, Djembe, Congas, Tombak and many others with some western ones to make a fusion of sound between different cultures and identities. Today, his musical influences are derived from a combination of traditional Arabic and North African rhythms, Flamenco, and Latin American styles, as well as Blues, Rock and Jazz.
