Ryan Jewell is a musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator, and improvisor that is primarily known as a drummer/ percussionist. Often characterized by his detailed finesse, deep sense of groove and creative approach, he is equally at home with a wide variety of artists, creating subtle heartbeat pulses behind acoustic singer-songwriters, playing multi-directional advanced polyrhythms with jazz improvisors, conjuring extended technique textures for electro-acoustic experimental music, and settling into backbeat pocket grooves with rock, pop, soul and r&b artists in studios and stages around the world.

As a performer he has toured frequently and extensively in the U.S., Canada, Europe, United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand and has worked on stage and studio with many great artists.
