Endorse HiTPLAY JoJoHo & SeanyP1 Reviews

  1. Review by Tony T.

    check_circleVerified

I have been working with HiTPLAY (Joe & Seany) off and on for the last four years. They have handled the production, arranging, engineering, and mixing for several of my songs. Each result is top notch and world class. They invest their individual artistic musical sensibilities and vast technical knowledge into each project. I would highly recommend HiTPLAY to anyone looking to advance and upgrade their next recording experience to the highest level.

Interview with HiTPLAY JoJoHo & SeanyP

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: There have been too many to list just one. We have been fortunate to work with some amazing artists over the years. From Iconic names to Inspirational artists to Award winning scoring.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: we are currently working with repeat clients on new songs. Also developing some newer artist. We also are doing some film cues including projects with actor/comedian Nick Swardson.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both are great, but currently most everything is in the box. Including Analog emulation plugins. Its always great to record analog too. Depends on the project and budget. Either way, it always ends up in the digital world.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: That they take a finished product that they will be proud and excited about when the song is done.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: We love the whole creative process. From creation to arranging to recording and mixing. It is always different!

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: The biggest misconception about what we do is that it is a fast process. And that we can do less quality to make it cheaper. That's like asking an an artist to only give you half a painting. Our quality is the same whether its a Demo or a Master.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: When working with a new client we first discuss the project or song(s) and what their end goal is. Then we try and toss Genre and Production direction. Any examples of what they are wanting it to sound like also is a great help. A song can be produced hundreds of different ways so narrowing it down helps expedite the process.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Don't hesitate to ask! No questions are out of order. And we are open to all budgets.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: John Mayer, he is genius. As a songwriter, an artist and a guitarist. Also, his recordings are always solid. And we love working with Great Vocalists!

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: It depends on the clients needs. We provide all styles. Genres include: Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, Electronic, Gospel, CCM, Rock, Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, Classical, Film Composing.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: Our main DAW is Avid Protools, Also work in Logic. We have most all major plugin libraries including Native Instruments, Output, WAVES, ReFX, Roland Cloud, 8Dio, Spectrasonics and more. We use the MagicPre 2100 by Teegarden Audio and various mics including a Shure KSM44. Keyboard controllers as well as Electronic and Acoustic Drums and Percussion.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: We are highly influenced by Jam & Lewis in the R&B world and Kaskade in Electronic music. Jame Horner is a favorite composer. Vocally, we are currently fascinated with Yebba.

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: A computer, a cable, a mic, a mic stand and a mic pre

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: JoJoHo began touring at 18 which led him to studio work in Nashville for 20 years. He also toured as a Music Director. SeanyP studied Music Business at Belmont University. The two formed HiTPLAY and have been producing for the past 20 years in Los Angeles.

  29. Q: How would you describe your style?

  30. A: JoJoHo brings any production style to the table but his vocal is Pop and R&B SeanyP has more of a jazzy rock voice with a pop edge.

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: There are no rules in Art!

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: We love working with artists and we do that very well. we approach songs from the Artist's perspective. Most always, artists become repeat clients.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Our genre diversity is our strongest attribute. We have the ability to attain the perfect style for each track.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: JoJoHo uses his diverse programming skills to arrange and create unique tracks. Tracking the vocal can either be done in Los Angeles or a remote location. We then maticulously edit the vocals followed by mixing and mastering.

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: We generally arrange and produce each song from start to finish, providing a one stop production service.
