Interview with Prymus
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I've produced many things that I'm proud of, but one in particular was a track for my dear friend Becko called "Loose Lips Sink Ships." During one of his live performances, Mike Shinoda (the lead singer of Linkin Park) commented on the track, saying "This song is a hit, a really well-produced track!" Needless to say, it made me proud and gave me the key to continue making music every day.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A soundtrack that will be released on Netflix the next year.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If I tell a client that the song will be finished on the day they choose, they will have it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The chance to work every day with my passion
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask them what they want to achieve from a song, how long it should be finished and if there are any special requirements.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just be professional like me.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My acoustic guitar. It's all that I need to create my music.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been making music for over 10 years. I have worked with artists who have been produced by Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park).
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Versatile
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: nothing, nowhere. , San Holo, Girl in Red, The Midnight. They're my favorite musicians and I think they're style could be fit perfectly with mine.

A: Indie rock, Dreampop, Emo, Synthwave, Lo-Fi, Pop, Metal.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Professionality, guitarist's skills, constancy and availability
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start by writing a song on the guitar or piano. Based on the type of melody I have written, I understand what genre the song should be. Then I move on to the drums, if needed, the effects, and then to mixing. I follow a fairly natural and linear process, without adding anything forced to the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I got a desktop computer and Macbook Pro M1, both have Ableton Live 11 inside with vst's by Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, Soundtoys, Native Instruments, Neural DSP and more. I also have a Fender Telecaster American Pro II, an acousti guitar by Baton Rouge AR22S/AC, a Fender Bass Precision and a microphone by AKG C214. My audio interface is RME Fireface UFX+.
