Interview with Corey Jordan
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Kasey Phillips
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Several projects in various genres.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog is great! Digital is great! Analog is warm and punchy, digital is clean and fast. With next level knowledge, skill and the right perspective, we can make things more stellar using a digital-analog hybrid.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Sonic Clarity and Integrity
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The greatest satisfaction for me is helping someone achieve something great, realize a dream, and seeing people vibe high to the work of my mind and hands.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your vision for the project? Is there a song or artist you'd like your music to be a similar vibe? What's the timeline on this project?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don’t be shy, I am approachable! Please feel free to reach out. I will be happy to help you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: API Lunchbox, Laptop, UAD Apollo Twin, Midi Keyboard, Rode NT2-A
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm what you'd consider to be self-taught. That means I taught myself to play piano and compose music right around the time of kindergarten in the late 80s.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I could put in less work, but that's not my style. Not imposing my will on the music, I let the music tell me what needs to be done.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Rihanna. She's also a Barbadian and I love her vibe!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't overthink it. What's important is how the music makes you feel when you hear it.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Feeling, Vibe and a different Perspective.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
