Yuval Lion is most known for his deep feel and strong sense of groove.
His unique, creative approach and unmistakable sound on the drum-set has made him a sought after touring and studio musician.
Yuval’s drumming can often be heard on music produced by today’s leading music producers VIctor Van Vugt (NIck Cave, Chrissie Hynde, PJ Harvey, Beth Orton), Dave Sitek (TV on The Radio, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s) Hector Castillo(Bjork,David Bowie), Andres Levine (David Byrne),Thomas Bartlett (Doveman,The National, Trixie Whitley).
Yuval Lion has toured and recorded with some of the most prominent Rock, Pop,R&B and Jazz artist on the scene today. Suzanne Vega,David Byrne,Chrissie Hynde, Cibo Matto, Julieta Venegas, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Martha Wainwright,Meshell Ndgeocello, Chocolate Genius, Marc Ribot and John Zorn, it name a few.
Yuval is also a band member in NYC instrumental trio Big Lazy.

Yuval is amazing. A drummer that grooves immaculately but also knows how to serve the music/song. He proposes excellent ideas but also knows when to do exactly what's needed and no more. He knows drum sounds very well and can also think as a producer. He can easily go into diverse musical territories (jazz, James Gadson-like soul, motown, experimental, disco) and do it with authority. Most importantly, he's super nice and a breeze to work with :) I'll be definitely calling him again for more sessions!

Yuval is the kind drummer you need on your record. He instinctively knows how to play the right part for the song, on the right drums, no matter the style. The fact that he is also an accomplished engineer as well means you're gonna be getting some expertly-recorded drums as well. There's a good reason this cat is so busy.
