Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: My studio setup is designed to allow me to record and produce high-quality vocals efficiently and effectively. I use a Townsend Sphere mic to capture my voice with clarity and warmth, and I rely on Pro Tools 12 and Ableton Live 10 as my main recording and production software. To process and enhance my vocals, I use a UAD Apollo x6 interface and a variety of plug-ins, including EQ, compression, reverb, and more. I also have a Mac running M1, which helps me to run multiple tracks and plugins smoothly. Finally, I am lucky to have an incredible sounding production room, which helps to create a natural and immersive sound environment for my vocals. 🎤

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: One project that I am especially proud of is a collaboration with Macau on his latest album. I was brought on as a vocalist and arranger, and I was really excited about the opportunity to work with such a talented artist and bring their songs to life with my vocals. Macau had a clear vision for the album, and it was a great challenge and opportunity for me to contribute my skills and ideas to the project. I was particularly proud of the work I did on the ballads, as I was able to bring a lot of emotion and depth to the vocals and really connect with the lyrics. Overall, it was a really rewarding experience, and I was thrilled to be a part of such a great project.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Right now, I am focused on two main projects: working on my debut album and providing vocal services to clients online!

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: As a singer and vocalist, I primarily work with digital tools and technology to create the best possible results. While I do believe that analog equipment can have a place in the music production process, I am primarily drawn to the flexibility, efficiency, and versatility of digital tools. With digital technology, I can easily edit and fine-tune my vocals, use virtual instruments and effects to enhance the sound, and collaborate with clients and other musicians from anywhere in the world. Overall, I find that digital tools offer the best solution for my work as a singer, and I am always excited to explore the latest technology and techniques to bring my clients' musical visions to life.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: What I love most about my job as a singer is the feeling of freedom and release that comes with performing. When I sing, I feel like I can escape from the world and all of its distractions and just focus on the moment and the music. It's an amazing feeling and one that I never take for granted. Whether I'm singing a soft ballad or an upbeat pop tune, I always try to bring my best to each performance and really connect with the music and my listeners.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: One of the most common questions that I receive from clients is whether they will own the rights to the song after I have recorded the vocals. My answer is always a resounding YES! As a freelance singer, I work on a work-for-hire basis, which means that my clients own 100% of the rights to the song once the project is complete. This is an important aspect of my work and ensures that my clients have complete control over their music and can use it however they see fit.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: One of the biggest misconceptions about what I do as a female singer is that the music industry doesn't take me as seriously as my male counterparts. This couldn't be further from the truth! I have been working in the industry for over 5 years and have honed my skills through extensive training and experience. I am fully committed to delivering high-quality, professional-grade vocals to my clients, and I am proud to have my work speak for itself.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: Is the key of the song flexible, or is it set in stone? What emotion would you like your listeners to feel when they hear the song? Do you have a specific timeline or deadline for the project? How long is the track, and what type of vocals are you looking for (e.g. solo, harmonies, ad libs)?

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: My advice would be to be flexible with the key of the song. Sometimes small adjustments can make a big difference in how a song sounds, so it's always a good idea to be open to trying out different keys. It's also helpful to have references ready, so that I can get a better understanding of your musical style and preferences. And finally, make sure to include everything you need in the initial brief to avoid any surprise costs. By clearly communicating your expectations and needs, we can work together to create something truly magical!

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: If I were stranded on a desert island, the first thing I would need is a good knife. You never know when you might need to cut something or defend yourself! Next, a compass would be super helpful for navigating and finding my way back to civilization. I would also need something to help me drink seawater, like a water purification tablet or a special straw. And let's be real, who wouldn't want a helicopter to come and rescue them from a desert island?! Of course, I would need a manual to figure out how to ride the helicopter, so that would be my fifth and final piece of gear. 🚁🏝️

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: My career path as a singer began when I studied contemporary singing at a Berklee International Network School. Since then, I have spent more than 5 years recording and producing vocals in a world-class studio here in Bogota. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists and clients, and I have truly found my passion in bringing musical visions to life through my vocals. I am constantly learning and growing as an artist, and I am excited to see what the future holds for my career.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I would describe my vocal style as soft, sweet, and romantic, with an airy quality that adds a touch of magic to each performance. I believe that emotive, personal vocals are what truly connect with listeners, and I always strive to deliver authentic and genuine performances. Whether I'm singing a soft ballad or a upbeat pop tune, my goal is to bring emotion and depth to each song and really connect with the listener.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: If I had the opportunity to work with any artist, I would love to collaborate with Adele. I have always been a huge fan of her powerful and emotive vocals, and I admire her ability to connect with listeners through her lyrics and performances. I believe that working with Adele would be a truly transformative experience, as she is a true master of her craft and I could learn so much from her. Plus, it would be an absolute dream come true to be able to sing alongside such an incredible talent!

A: One music production tip that I always like to share is to experiment with different plugins to create different "colors" for your vocals. For example, you can use EQ to adjust the frequencies of your vocal track and give it a brighter or warmer sound. Reverb and delay can also be used to add depth and space to your vocals, while compression can help to smooth out dynamics and add punch. By playing around with different plugins and effects, you can really bring your vocals to life and create a unique sound that sets your music apart!

A: I have a diverse range of musical interests and enjoy working on a variety of genres, including Latin Pop, Covers, Disney Covers, Translations, and Ballads. I love the challenge of tackling different styles and bringing my own unique spin to each project. No matter what genre I'm working in, my goal is always to deliver a high-quality, emotive performance that truly connects with listeners.

A: My strongest skill as a singer is my ability to capture the intimacy and realness of a vocal performance. I also pride myself on my professional-quality delivery and strong ear for harmonies, which allows me to add rich layers to my vocals and create a dynamic sound. A: My work process is all about bringing your musical vision to life! Here's how it goes down: 🎧 I start by listening to the song and understanding your specific needs. 🗣️ We'll chat about whether the key is a good fit for my voice (this is super important!). 🎹 I'll tweak the tempo and overall vibe of the track to find the perfect register and voice type for the song. 🎤 Time to hit the recording studio! I like to focus on each section separately to get the best possible take. 🎭 I like to get into character and really feel the moment while recording, because it helps me bring my A-game and deliver a super genuine performance. 🔍 After all the vocals are recorded, I'll listen back and make any necessary improvements. 📤 Finally, I'll send the finished product your way for review.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I am constantly inspired by the amazing talent in the music industry, but two artists that really stand out to me are Aurora and Danna Paola. Aurora's magical personality and love of nature is so inspiring, and her unique style always captivates me. Danna Paola's sweet voice and emotional vocals are also something that I greatly admire. These two artists have had a huge impact on my own musical style and approach to singing, and I am forever grateful for their inspiration! 🎤🎶
