music producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, mixing engineer and... handsome boy=)
hi! my name is james w. cosmo
since 1993, when I was 4 years old, I dreamed of devoting my whole life to music. And in my opinion it turns out
at the age of 17 I recorded my first album, where I performed as a producer, drummer, bassist, guitarist and vocalist. It was real and holy-daring post-hardcore
at the age of 18 I also moved from a small town at the north of Russia to St. Petersburg. There I got into "Origami" band as a vocalist. During all this time, we have won the hearts of most of Russia. Emo lovers especially
now I am 33 and behind my back hundreds of concerts and impressive knowledge in the field of music: producing, marketing, audio recording, mixing and mastering, etc.
recently, I have been the founder of the "MUZABIZ.COM" production center. We help people to create and bring their music to the world easier and faster
as well as the founder of one crazy application, which you can find on WHILETRUEFORK.IO

Interview with James W. Cosmo
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That music is fun. I consider this a delusion for those who do not understand how hard it is for some people. My family never supported me in what the Lord endowed me with. But I will stay true to my heart.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The main thing is to converge in harmony. If you don't like the music or songs that the producer creates, then working together will be a burden for both of you.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Of course! To finish the song faster you need to go to bed earlier, wake up earlier and get to work right away. And be sure to turn off all notifications!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If we talk specifically about production: In the beginning I listen to the demo and listen to sample songs that will be an example of the sound. Then I make the first musical sketches - I add drums, guitars (everything depends on the style, of course) and we start discussing with the client what he would like to add or change Then I finalize the arrangement and after the client is satisfied, I add the already recorded vocals and start the mixing stage. When we are satisfied with the final mix, I send the song for mastering. After that, the customer will receive a completely finished track for distribution
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Listen to your music on repeat and hear words of gratitude for it
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Editing and Patience
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: MAC PRO, RME FIREFACE UCX, SHURE BETA 87A, SHURE SM7, SLATE VMS ML-1, FENDER PRECISION BASS, FENDER JAGUAR, ALVAREZ ACOUSTIC GUITAR, LINE6 VARIAX AND MY BRAIN WITH EARS
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Satisfy their musical needs
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Classic Guitar, Big Knife, Sleeping bag, Whistle and My WIFE
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was 14y.o when I started writing the first arrangements
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm nuts. Today I'm composing punk, and tomorrow I'll write a trap with an orchestra. Someday I'll write an R&B Metal album
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to write a song for DAVE GAHAN
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Alternative, Pop, Electronic. And it is a pity that not all songs are appropriate guitar
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: All MYSELF
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The Mars Volta, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, The Beatles, Depeche Mode, Muse
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am always working on my musical projects (ORIGAMI, YRALMASH). Sometimes it is very difficult to perform the functions of a musician, composer, arranger and sound engineer. You always want to be perfect, but no one can stop you
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I am new here=)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog and digital. Analog gives life to the sound and adds fullness to its character. Digital enables flexibility and speed of work, and also makes the choice of tool endless. But it can slow down the creation process
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If we agree on everything from the beginning, then I promise that when the client receives his music, he will definitely not remain indifferent
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I can be proud of my role as a vocalist in an origami group. We've played several hundred shows and recently got over a million streams on Apple Music
