Grammy-winning engineer specializing in performance editing, especially vocals. Crystal clear tuning and timing, completely natural sounding, with no robotic aftertaste! I’ve comped and tuned literally thousands of lead vocals, including dozens of Grammy nominees/winners and Top 10 songs. I have 71 Platinum awards!
I've been doing this full time for over 25 years-- Rolling Stone magazine wrote an article about me and called me the "Secret Weapon"! :)
Price: typically $300 to 500 for a lead vocal. (It depends on how good the comp is, how long the song is, if a lot is flown, etc.) If I comp the vocal, the tuning usually takes less time. I charge hourly, not by song. Backing vocals are less predictable time-wise, but you can probably extrapolate how long they would will take by the lead vocal time (depends on how many, how good they are, and so on). I charge $100/hour, so the $500 a song average listed is really just to give you a ballpark number. It's usually less than that for just a lead vocal, a bit more for LV plus BGVs.
For instruments, I can generally do a 4 piece band's basic tracks in like 5-8 hours, again depending on song length, and performance quality.
