Bradford has it all - soul, chops and of course, killer voice. A great songwriter, arranger. Sounds major league but super nice person at the same time.

Bradford did a stellar job on my song and was able to turn it around incredibly quickly and to a very high level. Main vocals, double and some extras also!!
Top work indeed.

Bradford was very easy to work with, has that great gritty vocal, and the vocal he delivered is the same quality as his demo vocals you hear. I will use him again.
I have had Bradford make several demos for me over the last few years. I have given him the lead sheet of a complete song. I have never made any suggestions on their production because I trust his judgement. He has never disappointed. Not only have the completed projects been excellent they all seem to stand the test of time and have become treasures I return to often. I am most impressed with how much of his considerable talent he puts into every project. Not only are they excellent demos, but with a little added production could be released as singles.
After my father passed away I wanted to write a song to honor him. Bradford sat down with me for just a few hours and in that time he was able to help me put into music what I wanted to say. He polished my lyrics and helped me find the right tune to accompany it and also worked with my skill level to make sure it was suitable for me to perform. I am deeply grateful for his help.
Bradford patiently worked with me (a very amateur first-time song writer) and brought my songs to life. I provided him with two versions of each song: one with my vocals/melodies and one without vocals/melodies that he could use to record his vocals. My songs are from the power-pop genre and he nailed them. In some cases he provided me with alternative approaches and every time he did that, those songs popped! I originally thought that we would do 2 or 3 songs, but we ended up co-writing nearly 20 songs! I highly recommend Bradford. He is professional, patient and has boundless talent!
Bradford is great to work with! Very good communicator, great songwriter and an amazing singer/performer! Would highly recommend working with him on your next project.
Interview with Bradford Loomis
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I have had several opportunities to help people memorialize their loved ones that they lost during the height of the pandemic. Helping them to write the song, produce and record it to honor someone deeply important to them was honestly transformative for me.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently producing an Americana rock project here in Nashville in the Retrolab and an EP of reimagined Bruce Springsteen covers.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mary Bragg, Brad Lindsay, Hannah Miller are awesome!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love and use both actually. Analog is awesome and has such warmth and depth but can be really costly. Digital can be quicker and more cost effective. It really depends on what your goals are.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will keep you appraised of the progress of the project and will do everything I can to exceed your expectations!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I see a lot of people assuming that their project isn't good enough or their not established enough etc. I LOVE helping people's projects come to life!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: A lot of the questions I get are about timeline and that's why it's so important to understand the scope of the project.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That great recordings have to be done is big name super expensive studios.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What they are looking to have done, what do they want to convey through the project, what are their goals for the project, what is their timeline like and what is their budget?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask a lot of questions. Ask for example of their work. Does it sound like what you are going for?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Assuming in this scenario that there is electricity on the island, I would want my computer, Apollo interface, Shure Sm7b my midi controller and my guitar.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I knew I wanted to me a musician ever since I was a kid. There was a stretch where I gave up music outside the church when I met my wife and had kids. But I came back to music full time about 13 years ago and haven't looked back.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style of music lives where passionate soul and the homespun eloquence of Americana storytelling intersect, that I call Rhythm and Roots.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Katie Pruitt. She really excels at evoking powerful emotions through her fantastic songwriting and incredible vocals!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never sit in one space too long. A good song will keep moving. Either adding or subtracting something through layering or introducing a new utilizing dynamic contrast, a song should keep moving.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I do a lot of Rock, Americana, and folk but I love pop music as well!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Great songs will provoke emotions. I work hard to create powerful moments in my projects that make the listener feel something.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: 20 plus years of experience as a songwriter, touring and performing artist musician and producer and a lifetime fan of great music, I have learned what works in a song and what doesn't.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First and foremost I like to discuss the project with the client. It's so important to ask a lot of questions to get a firm understanding of what the goals for the project are, what expectations we have and what the timeline will look like. Knowing the scope and workload of the project informs everything else.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a great little studio here in Nashville for in the box recordings and for larger budget projects I work out of the Retrolab with Nick Bearden in East Nashville.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love the production of T-Bone Burnett and Blake Mills
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record a lot of vocals for demos, top-lining, voice over work for content and lyric and songwriting for peoples projects. I also record demos and consult on songwriters songs and recordings.
