Hi my name is Marc Evan Diaz, I’m a Brooklyn based musician who has worked as a producer, songwriter, artist, and multi-instrumentalist for over 10 years. My background is in the genres of classical, jazz, gospel, CCM, R&B, broadway styles, inspirational, pop, hiphop, children’s music, many international genres, and almost everything in between.
As a producer, I’ve worked in many different styles with many grammy and award-winning singers, songwriters, and instrumentalist, but I specialize in helping christian artist make world-changing music for inside and outside the church. As an artist and worship leader myself, I recognize the importance of this work, and the musical and spiritual excellence it takes to get the project done. As a producer, songwriter, singer, or instrumentalist, I want to come beside you to help your vision come to life.
I mostly work from my studio in Brooklyn using in Logic, Protools, Ableton, and Machine, but I have also produced recording sessions in some of the most famous studios in the world including Powerstation Studios (formerly Avatar), Log Cabin Studios, and Sear Sound. I love electronic, live, and acoustic productions, but I mostly love blending all three together to make modern masterpieces. I hold 3 degrees from Berklee College of Music and BerkleeNYC, and I also teach graduate level songwriting, production, and world-music classes at Vandercook College of Music.
I would love to be your producer, songwriter, singer, or instrumentalist. Reach out to me today so we can get your project started!

Marx once again delivered! He fully produced a track to a song I wrote (pop/hip hop) and definitely brought a vision to life. I was especially impressed with how he really studied and captured the essence of nuances found in the musical references I sent him to craft an entirely original sound. Also- he worked super fast making this project a breeze to finish. I highly recommend Marc for original track production-a clearly experienced professional!

Marc was such a pro to work with. A few highlights of my experience include Marc’s rapid response, the video calls he set up to make sure my project vision was clear, and ultimately the execution of the vocals for my song demo!! Marc has a soulful, rich sound, did excellent BGVS and lead vocals, and provided a solid vocal mix well suited to the song. I can’t wait to collaborate with him on future projects- I cannot recommend him enough!!
Interview with Marc Evan Diaz
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I loved working on was Carvens Lissaint's album "Target Practice." We made it while he was in the principal role of George Washington in Hamilton on Broadway, but at the same time is a incredibly meaningful project that tackles justice and race issues that were so prevalent at the time. We worked incredibly hard to write and produce it, and its a bold statement that spans a lot of artistic and creative genres.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on my next project Meditations Chapter 2, along with the accompanying live project "The LaGuardia Sessions." Hit me up and we'll share songs together. :)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I would recommend my friend Grace Souder who is an incredible writer!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Analog offers a warmth and a special "in the moment" connection that a computer could never achieve, but no one can deny the power of digital in todays production landscape. What I've always tried to do is bring both together to create modern-soulful sounds.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to accomplish your vision with excellence and integrity.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A Yamaha concert grand piano (lol), my electric guitar, and a notebook so I could write songs.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Kirk Franklin or Fred Hammond!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Follow your gut! But also find a few good references that you can model your production and mixes after, and don't stop till it sounds just as good or better than your goal!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I've worked on all types of music in the past, but what I love to specialize in is gospel music that extends beyond the church and reaches the world. This is my calling as an artist and producer, and I specifically want to help other christian artist tell their unique stories to reach the world.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skills definitely are my musicality and leadership. I come from a musical home and was raised by an opera singer and a Trinidadian born DJ. Because of that, I was introduced to a variety of music and was classically trained on multiple instruments from a young age. This gives me a natural intuitiveness in my production and songwriting, because my musical foundation is strong. Aside from that, a good producer needs leadership skills, to understand how to get a project from the start to the desired finish line.
