Interview with D. Ne$zi
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on an edm track for a client.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Umm, both. Hybrid you know? But if I had to pick one, then digital. What can I say, I came up on mixing in the box, I can do so much at a much faster rate.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Customer hospitality, regardless of whether or not my work was accepted or not.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you are looking for a reliable, lifetime partner, you came to the right place.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Attention to detail and customer service.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring life and make them hit harder, while still keeping dynamics.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: To keep it short, I do cleanup and level out on the things needed and then bring out characteristics and elements that emphasize the core aspects of the record. I make things better, and only change what I need to when necessary.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: As for right now, at my home studio I simply use an Apollo Twin with my Focal Alpha monitors and laptop. At the studios I work at, I have access to the hilo, Behringer x32, neve preamp/eq, dangerous monitors, slate raven, LA-2A compressors, and API 500 series modules.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I commonly work with hip-hop/rap/trap music. I record a lot of rappers but have recorded a small band before such as acoustic and bass guitars for Latin music.
