Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The Breeders ‘All Nerve’ Pre production and album engineering. Why? I love the band.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Multiple mixing projects ranging from orchestral to heavy rock
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet. I’m new here.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. I like both mediums and I have clients that like both.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will be satisfied and you will return.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting new people and being invited to share in their art and creative process.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long does it take to record an album? Me: I will work as quickly as you work to capture the performances. It will take however long it takes you to perform your songs to your own satisfaction.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That bands ‘record’ finished albums by standing in the room and playing it once from beginning to end. That a 45 minute album takes 45 minutes to make.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What type of recording are you hoping to make? What are your expectations? How can I best help you reach your goals?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Check out my website, look at my client list or listen to recordings I’ve made. Write to me or talk to me to make sure we’re a great fit so we can work together to bring your vision to life.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Akg 414, neve 1272 or amek 9098, fatso distressor, genelec 1020 As… can I bring my console? Do they hve mic stands and cables on this island?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I interned at a studio in the mid 90s then got hired on, worked my way up from studio B to studio A, then eventually opened my own studio

A: Patient. Attentive. Interested.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Anyone who is willing to invest the time to make a great album
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Spend time on the arrangements of your songs. It always pays off
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie rock, rock n roll, heavy rock, folk, country
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening.

A: Decades of experience as an audio engineer, multi instrumentalist and songwriter.

A: Analog 24 track 2” tape machine. Harrison SM5 32 input x 32 output analog console. Full digital production capabilities with Logic Pro X, antelope and universal audio interfaces
