My name is Irminsul, and I am a celtic harpist, pianist, synth composer, arranger and performer. Currently I play with The Royal Kona Harp Ensemble, and have done commissioned composition and arranging work for all instrument types from solo piano to full orchestra. Past work with famous violinist Robbie Greene, The Chieftains and Blue Indigo.
Coming from being raised in classical piano, the jump into rock and then prog rock was steep, but part of my history. It is also where I picked my love and mastery of the synthesizer, studying and learning the techniques of Isao Tomita, Jean Michel Jarre, Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman. Later in life I fell in with a group of Irish musicians which led me to my bread and butter instrument to this day - the celtic harp. I started with solo works on the brass wire strung harp, but then moved up the ranks to the bands Idlewild, Dal Riadha, and the electro-celtic band Stonecircle. My knack for composition and arrangement for "difficult" ensembles has landed me work with Hawai'i Island's Royal Kona Harp Ensemble, Stradivarius String Quartet, Magic Strings Quartet, New Lemuria Consort and with principals in the Kamuela Symphony Orchestra.
