Hi! Im a mastering engineer from Florence, Italy. I'm currently studying Audio Engineering and i've been working with many local and international artists for over 6 years. I am highly specialised in mastering and I work with an hybrid setup in my personal studio. Hybrid setup means that I take full advantage of the modern digital tools while using analog gear to improve the sonic profile of your song. I am very proud of my work and I'm sure that you will be more than satisfied with the end result. If you're not, I guarantee you will get a full refund.
Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.
Interview with Underwtr
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure to communicate your goal with the song if you have any. Send 24 or 32 bit wav files at -6dbFS if possible (the loudness isn't all that important, just make sure it isn't clipping).
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like very dynamic songs, so i try not to squash things like many do. If you need it, i will still make your tracks louder, but i am very good on dynamic material.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use your ears, close your eyes.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop, rap and edm songs, but i am open to working with all genres (except classical).
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My main goal is to respect the client whishes. Once i've done that, i try to make all the songs i work on "clearer, louder, warmer" and all those cool words engineers use to describe a good sounding song. If you dont like what i did, we can start from scratch or get a refund, no question asked.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog is fancy and sounds great, digital is the best tool for cleaning and problem solving.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If you dont like what i did to your song, we can start over or you get a refund. You will be satisfied and thats a promise.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Converter, monitors, the zahl eq1 (my favourite processor, analog or digital), my vca bus compressor and obviously the computer.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can pick up fairly quickly any problem that a song might have, and im very good at making good sounding songs superb sounding.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by analyzing the song and i make a mental to do list based on genre, the client suggestion and other factors that depend from song to song. I then hop on Izotope RX to do a spectral analysis and check if there's any artifacts that i can remove in such a way. I then take the wav file and start the mastering, cleaning the track where's possible (if not, i usually notify the client and try to get some changes in the mix) and then use my analog mastering chain and some plugins that help me adjust loudness, tone and excitement.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The heart of my setup is my converter, the RME ADi 2 Pro fs r. It allows me to monitor with an exceptional sound quality. The signal flow from there can be routed into my mastering analog chain, where i compress, equalize and saturate to taste. My monitors are the EVE SC205, some of the finest sounding monitors in my opinion.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am specialised in mastering, so i'm mostly doing that along with audio restoration, mixing and sound design for tv and video games.
