Interview with Danybazz

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My latest EP, (THE MAY PACKAGE), I basically wore all the hats on the project (songwriter, music producer and sound engineer) and it came out SUPERB!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working on a joint project with a label.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I'm new here,so No.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. Less baggage, less maintenance, plug and play, uniformity of sound. Plus there are a lot of analog emulations; they might not sound as good as analog, but then, the AVERAGE Listener can't tell the difference.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to deliver professional and pristine sounding mixes.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The fact you can play with effects and i to can also be undone when you go too far.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Can you make me sound like Xx Artiste? (Lol) What's your mixing fee? Who have you mixed for? What DAW do you use to mix?

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: People think we can make a bad song sound fantastic. Technically we can make a bad song slightly better. But it would still be a bad song that's well engineered.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What theme are you going for? Is this part of a project? Any reference tracks? Any reference artist in mind?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Mixing and Mastering services, Songwriting.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My laptop, speakers,my midi keyboard,an audio interface and a condenser microphone

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started up as a songwriter/Artiste. I added Sound engineering to my skillset along the way. I've been doing this for more than 7 years; 5 years professionally.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Chill but Energetic (think Post Malone)

  30. A: A tip: Study the arrangement of popular songs and implement in your work process.

  32. A: I work mainly in the Trap,Drill and World Genres.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill would be the ability to discern what would go up the charts and get the average listener hyped (being a recording artist also myself)

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I am a very diverse listener when it comes to the music I listen to. So I'll say I bring creativity into any song project I'm hired to work on. I do what is needed and then I show you what else can be done to make the song better.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Firstly,I organize my tracks into folders and groups so I can see where I'm going clearly. Then i perform clean up tasks;remove noise, pops and clicks, etc. Then I balance the initial levels to set the foundation of the track. Afterwards I apply effects and master.
