I'm a music producer who creates world music from the point of view of Brazilian drumming/percussion.I have great skills as a pianist, arrangements for the brass section and master the Brazilian vocabulary on the 7 and 6 string guitar, as well as regional Brazilian instruments such as Viola and Cavaquinho.

ABOUT MEI
I'm a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer and producer expert in Brazilian rhythms. I was formally trained piano player and hold a bachelors degree in music.

WHAT I DO?
I produce all genres, especially AfroBeat, Hip Hop and Lo Fi Hip Hop, Trap, Raggae and Latin. I will always look for the best possible groove for your music, what will move you and at the same time make you want to dance.
To find these grooves, I use my knowledge of Brazilian rhythms and instruments and that's what makes me World Music! I'm not too lazy to explore until I make you satisfied with the result! Listen to my Track!!!

CREATIVE PROCESS
I combine grooves from instruments such as piano, synthesizers, brass section, bass, guitar, drums and beats with the Brazilian percussive universe! I also have access to a wide range of incredible percussionists who work with me according to the work demand that arises. I can produce your music from scratch or simply send you Brazilian percussion tracks, pianos, brass sections, synths as well as Brazilian strings. Enjoy!

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My first album "Cultura de Existência". In this work I managed to synthesize all the knowledge I developed about modern Afro-Brazilian music. In this project I was a singer, composer, arranger, musical director, co-producer and guitarist.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm finishing up an EP of Afro Brazilian music by a local artist. I'm also delivering an R&B single by a singer-songwriter from another region of Brazil and I'm getting ready to start producing 10 tracks for a samba school.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not Yet

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I work with digital because here in Brazil some analog equipment is not very accessible, however, I like to mix my productions with engineers who work with analog.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Your service will be personalized. We will find the best result for you and I will not give up until we find it.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love working with music, I love discovering new studios and artists and exchanging knowledge. I love producing new music and going down to posterity as someone who made a difference in this world.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Se eu consigo gravar instruementos em meu studio? Sim, conheço bem minha sala e gosto do resultado que tiro dela. Quais são meu valres? Sou flexível, vamos conversar! Se eu mixo ou masterizo? Não

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I produce all genres and not just Brazilian music. What I do is experiment with new grooves within each genre.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What are your references? Do you think this reference looks like what you want? Is the BPM good? Do you have any recorded guides?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Don't go after a product that everyone already makes, look for originality.

  22. A: MacBook, headphones, 1 condenser microphone, a controller and a guitar.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been studying music since 1997. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in piano in 2014, and from there I started producing, directing and arranging.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Afro Brazilian Music, Black Music, World Music (in this order).

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Masego. I like the style he developed and I admire him as an instrumentalist, singer and composer.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Pay attention to the quality of your timbres, for me this is 80%. Less is more, find succinct grooves that work!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually produce AfroBeat, Latin, Hip Hop with influences from Brazilian trap and funk and modern Brazilian music. I like to use these genres as a reference to be able to experiment with new grooves influenced by the Brazilian rhythmic universe.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Finding interesting grooves, timbres and melodies. I'm not a producer who usually produces the obvious, I always find a way to spice up my productions. As an instrumentalist I'm great at keyboards, synths and Brazilian regional instruments like 6 and 7 string guitar. I make arrangements for brass sessions and record in my studio, the result is always great! I also have access to great percussionists who, depending on demand, come to my studio to record under my direction.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring special grooves, non-obvious harmonic textures and striking melodies. I really enjoy using my knowledge of Brazilian rhythms and percussion to spice up my grooves. I'm a fan of the art of sampling, and I create harmonic textures from the mix of played instruments and samples. As a songwriter, I'm very good with melodies and I always try to work on sound design to get the best out of my melodies.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: PRODUCING First, I listen to the guide sent by the customer and make some comments. Then I start a conversation with the client to exchange references until I understand perfectly what he expects from his song, then I open the section with the main voice and find the most convenient BPM for that song (The guide recording can even be done on the cell phone , I can work perfectly under these conditions). I like to start the creative process by finding some interesting groove with harmonic instruments like keyboards, synths, bass lines or guitar lines. Once I find a way, I always go to the drums or beat part, considering all my knowledge of Brazilian and Latin rhythms. Finally, I move on to editing and sound design, where I'll refine what I've built so far.(Editado)Restaurar original SENDING TRACKS I always consider the style I'm approaching. Each genre has its specific characteristics that need to be respected, either in timbre or in the way of playing the instrument. I send 3 or more track options for the customer to choose the one they like best. I am flexible and do revisions.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in a home studio that has proper acoustic treatments. I have 2 Yamaha Hs6 monitors, an Audio Technica ATHM20 headphone and a Focurite Scarlletti 18i interface. I use Ableton Live 11 in my productions as well as the instruments at my disposal such as: Nord Electro 3, mininova synthesizer (novation), m audio controller, Tagima 6 string guitar, cavaquinho, 6 and 7 string guitar (luthier), viola and some percussion instruments. It also has an audio technica AT2020 condenser microphone and an AKG drum mic kit.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I love producers like Quincy Jones, Carlinhos Brown, Lee Scratch Perry, Dr Dre and Daniel Ganjamam. The artists who most influence me today are Tems, Baiana System, Gilberto Gil, Koffee, Masego and Djavan.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Generally, the demands that appear to me the most are musical production or recording of keyboard tracks, synthesizers, percussion and Brazilian instruments in general.
