Tom “T Bone” Relling has been active on the San Francisco scene for over a decade, and has earned a reputation among Bay Area musicians for his masterful bottleneck slide guitar playing.
An emotive an versatile guitarist, Tom’s tasteful slide playing has been featured in an array of musical styles ranging from hard rock, country, and funk / r&b. As a performer, Tom has played onstage with heavy-hitters like Vulfpeck and slide master Robert Randolph, and he is currently a touring member of prominent Bay Area rock group the Stone Foxes.
As a session guitarist, Tom has played slide on hundreds of recordings since his emergence on the SF scene in 2010. Notable highlights include dobro on singer-songwriter Eric Long’s sophomore LP, as well as a lead guitar feature on neo-soul outfit Speakeasē’s debut record. In addition to his ever-expanding credentials, Tom has been the bandleader of a handful of Bay Area based projects, including swamp-funk jam band Hibbity Dibbity and “apocalypse rock” power trio TONG, and continues to record and release music under his own name. Tom is also an accomplished music producer, working out of his own studio in Northern California.
