My goal for each project is to have the artists vision be heard loud and clear when the listener hits play. Whether producing, mixing, or mastering, I strive to bring out as much sonic clarity and vibe from the material as possible.

I've worked with Cody for 7+ years and you will not find someone who is more jazzed to get your song / album sounding KILLER than he is. Cody's passion for music is matched by his competence as a performer, recording engineer, producer, mixer, and mastering engineer. If you want work with someone who's patient, focused, and dedicated to making your song slap, hit Cody up.
I've been lucky enough to be able to work with Cody in his studio more than a handful of times. He has mixed/mastered/recorded multiple tracks I've been a part of. Him and his studio have a very reputable name around the St Pete/Tampa Bay(Florida) Area. I got to watch him mix one of my tracks recently, and I was blown away by his attention to all the tiny details. He's truly a master at what he does, and you can tell he's put thousands of hours into perfecting his craft. If you care about your project and you wanna work with someone who ALSO sincerely cares... Cody is next level
Cody Doss is one of those figures that all musicians need—a true professional with amazing skills and raw talent. Cody’s almost like a mind reader when you’re working in the studio with him. The dude has a sixth sense for audio engineering and for music in general. When in doubt, bet on Cody and all your projects will come out amazing!
I’ve asked Cody to play many roles in the production of my music over the years and each time he’s approached projects with total motivation, open-mindedness, and heart (let alone massive skills). From acting as a producer on tracks by sprinkling them with his own unique vision and flavors to mastering a project I mixed myself my experience with him has been always ten out of ten. He’s kind, fast, always willing to please, and highly talented.
Cody helped my music dreams come to life. Throughout our collaboration, he listened deeply to my thoughts for the project and was able to implement them, checking in with me step by step and fully supporting me in my vision. His edits were quick and timely, his skill incredible, and his ear trained and detailed. As a woman collaborating with him,I felt fully heard, honored, and respected throughout the whole process, not to mention impressed by his mastery with the technology, music theory, and instruments.
Cody is very skilled and knowledgeable in his work. He can bring your ideas to life and is quick and efficient. He makes time for his clients and will make sure that you are satisfied with the final project. He cares about his craft and it shows. Very professional and he genuinely wants to assist his clients. He will answer any questions that you may have or provide ideas to help improve the project. He will definitely deliver. It’s always a pleasure working with Cody. I recommend him to any artist and musician with a vision and goal in mind.
I’ve been working with Cody for 3 years now. He’s exactly who you want to work on your music. Very knowledgeable, talented, quick, patient, and fun. I’ve watched him level up and grind the past few years and he’s always leveling up and getting better. His gear is always consistent too (not like the 3 million dollar studios with protools crashing every hour). Aside from engineering/mixing and his own band King Complex, Cody also is great with producing. He has really helped me figure out what sounds I like and has gotten me so much closer to finding “my sound”. I would give 6 stars if I could!
Working with Cody has been a dream. One of the best creative collaborators I’ve ever had the pleasure of making music with. Everything flows so fluidly and he brings my music to new heights! Love his spirit and I highly recommend considering him for your projects.
Cody is a consummate professional (and the resume to back it up) with a big heart for music and the people he makes music for. His humble and empathetic nature is quite the breath of fresh air in an industry that can be wrought with ego. I’ve worked with him on a number of projects and will continue to do so in the future. He works hard to listen to you and make sure that what you’re working on sticks true to your vision, but also exceeds it in areas you weren’t intending.
Cody is absolutely brilliant when it comes to audio production. His ear and understanding of what the artist is going for is impeccable. He operates in such a warm yet motivating way. He will absolutely have you feeling more comfortable about your creation than you were expecting during your session. He is a very talented musician himself, which helps tremendously when in need of guidance or a second opinion for a song. I highly recommend Cody Doss for all your music production needs
Cody is the only person who has successfully gotten me comfortable enough to push through my anxiety and make music. He has a talent for bringing out the best in the people he works with, and genuinely cares about preserving the integrity of the song. Cannot speak highly enough of him, as words really don’t do him justice!
I really needed Stereogram. I met Cody sitting in on a friends session, and we instantly connected. I could tell how much he cared about going there with music, and making stuff. His skill as a mix engineer is equally impressive, and every time I have an idea he has two more about how we could make it happen.
This man is the Rick Ruben of St Pete. Cody took my vision for @adamtheaddict and helped make it a reality. If you’re serious about making moves in the music world, Cody is your guy
I don’t make a lot music, but when I do it’s with Cody. I make very poppy, dreamy and short form songs, 1 to 2 minutes max. The excitement and attention Cody has and gives to the ideas I come with are always a recipe for something beautiful and in my ears, perfect.
Cody Doss makes my vision TRULY come to life, he has this crazy talent of truly listening to an artist and being able to actually bring what I describe through the speakers. He has been a co-producer, engineer, mastering engineer, and instrumentalist on many of my projects. The projects we have worked on together have even landed on Spotify editorials! Whatever you need for your project, Cody can absolutely bring it as well as exceed all of your expectations. I look forward to working with him every time, and I am always excited to book him for future sessions.
I had a vision and it was brought to life with Cody’s incredible help and support. It made a world of difference to work with someone who knows what they are doing and how to help you figure out the feeling you wanna capture. We worked together on a piece that was so dear to my heart, and when it was finished he definitely watched me cry tears of joy at the end result! I definitely would recommend Cody on any musical work that you think deserves to be consciously supported.
From your head to the speakers, Cody is extraordinarily competent in identifying and bringing creators’ envisioned soundscapes to life. Even with my lack of professional aural vernacular, Cody, on numerous occasions, has shown suspiciously mind-reader-like comprehension and translation. Sessions with Cody are efficient, effective, and empowering. Your search is over. Book Cody Doss.
Single handily one of the best to ever touch the computer. A mixing and mastering wizard, forged in the fires of Mordor, while simultaneously smoking a peace pipe of respect and love.
Cody @ Stereogram is an absolute audio angel and all around amazing. That's a lot of alliteration to say that 5 stars is not enough. Very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, patient, honest, and talented. Highly recommended, book a session!
Interview with Cody Doss
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Kerry Courtney is an INCREDIBLE singer if you're looking to have vocals on your track!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Simplify the process for yourself - you're bringing on help for a reason. Don't get bogged down in the technicalities of things. Just allow yourself to fully be the artist you are and I will take care of the back end.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Adapting my skillset to achieve the sonic vision of the project at hand, regardless of genre
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability to work on something new every single day. It is never the same.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began recording my own songs in my bedroom on a tiny handheld recorder around 17 years ago. Throughout my childhood I played in a lot of punk and metal bands. After going to school at FSU for Music Education and Classical Guitar, I taught special needs music for 4 years. Finally, surrendering to my true love (the recording arts), I now own Stereogram Sound in St. Petersburg, FL where I do this shit all day!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Hip-Hop, Indie Rock
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Sonically: vibe, depth, and clarity / Musically: a diverse multi-instrumental background
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to listen to the song a couple of times on repeat before starting. I begin to identify things that could be enhanced or manipulated in ways to bring the source energy of the music out more. Then, I take action on those aspects of the song that I would like to change and keep working it until it's just right.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love anything super weird with enough pop elements to keep you grounded. Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, The Strokes, and MGMT are some favorites.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically I do full-service "lets finish this thing" recording sessions. Production + mixing + mastering.
