Hi, I’m Patricio, a professional bass player and composer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with over 15 years of experience recording all kinds of music. My passion lies in crafting basslines that not only serve the music but elevate it—whether through melodic fretless lines, groovy rhythms, or rich chordal textures.
Turnaround is 1-2 days. I record different takes, with different ideas, so you can choose which one works best with your music and from there, we work on the corrections that you think are necessary so that the music sounds as you dreamed!
I record with a Warwick Thumb bass, Fender Jazz Bass and with a luthier fretless bass, which you can hear on the demo reel. I'm recording with logic and the interface is apogee.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I could say my albums, I was the composer, arranger, bass player, and guitarist in many songs.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My third album.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Be creative.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to the productions that the musician is envolved, like instrumentalist and like composer if he is a composer, because it's his language and his thoughts.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Particular.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jorge Drexler, because I consider him a complete artist. His music is simple and complex, has a perfect balance.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: World music, Latin American music, Jazz and work a lot recording for Songwriters.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Think like a composer, not just like an instrumentalist.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Balance.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually listen to the song and its structure several times before I start recording, in order to understand the dynamics of the music, which I consider one of the most important things. At the same time I look for references to similar songs, within that style. Then I record two different bass lines, the first one the one I think is appropriate, and the second one playing fewer notes, with less rhythmic activity, which depending on the composer's aesthetic decision can work better, also considering that more instruments will be recorded later.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I like the world music, as a composer Pat Metheny is my biggest inspiration and like bass player Richard Bona and Anthony Jackson are my favorites.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually work with Latin American music, jazz and songwriters, but I really enjoy playing and recording any style, I love challenges and contribute with my language to all types of music!
