When staying in Paris, I got in touch with Didier for producing my first song. We went on a magical journey, finding my sound and dynamics in my music and the song. Didier is very talented musician and producer. He understood me very well and manage to capture me as an artist and helped me in recording the song, how I envisioned it. Thank you Didier for the amazing work. Until we meet again on a new project.
Incredible man… Outstanding sound engineer, arranger with always tasteful ideas and talented bass player

fantastique mixeur et réalisateur qui sublimera vos chansons !
I’m a drummer/singer and I know Didier Théry as a bassist, composer and sound engineer for 15 years. I play the live and studio drums for V1NCM4N (a French Pop Rock Band, Did is the bassist and producer of the band) and I can say that everything seems to be easy with Did. When he’s in the team, on stage or in the studio, YOU FEEL SAFE ! He’s very talented and efficient. This guy is well known in France and it’s fully justified..
I know Didier for many years. He is an excellent musician, sound engineer and producer.I have been lucky to record an E.P at Terrific studio, and will come back without an hesitation.
Always patient, always listenig, he knows his studio and equipment by heart .Full of ideas, he will also provide the good advices to make your music sound better.I'm a french professional composer/arranger.
I have had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Didier many times. Each time, he knew how to take my musical project much further than I would have done alone.
This guy ROCKS ! (in every situation). And (most important for me) he's also really cool.
When you’ve worked with him once, it’s hard to work with someone else after...Didier is very professional, open minded and full of ideas. He really upgrades your productions by adding his knowledge of technology with taste and respect for your work. He has a great musical background.
Not only Didier is a skilled technician with a perfect knowledge of vintage/modern tools (and the curiosity to dig new sounds) but he is also a talented musician with tasteful ideas. It is a pleasure to work with him: fast, effective, and cost efficient. He will make you play better and sound great !
Amazing man!
I has helped me on my work so many times.
He s a great mixer and has wonderful ideas in composing as well.
You can t be deceived with him.
Interview with Didier Théry
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am especially proud to have worked on Gaelle Buswel's album "Your Journey". Recorded at ICP Brussel and mixed at home Givraines near Paris. I produced the album from start to finish but it's really a collective work that gave this result. we spent 10 days recording in a very creative environment with all the stock musical instruments and analog gear on site. And Gaelle is such a generous artist, It was an incredible moment...
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm mixing a tribute show to Christophe, a cult French singer. And songs from new artists.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Jon Du, a very good song writer !!!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both ! there is good in every.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We work until you are satisfied.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Choose your profession well, you will never work. I don't work !
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: the price ? It depends !!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: We'll see that in the mix !!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Can I listen to something from you ? What are you expecting from me ?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I'll tell him to work well and prepare what he wants to produce, record and/or mix.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I will never go to a desert island.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have always been a musician , I mainly play bass. over time and the different projects in which I participated I learned recording and production. I set up a studio which evolved and grew and for 25 years I have been working for a lot of artists.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I really don't know, I think to be a rock mixer in tune with the times, it doesn't mean anything but...
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Kings'X, Temperance Movement, Tim Christensen, Aston Villa, L'affaire Louis Trio... I love them ! some no longer exist ...
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I have no tips, each project is different, I try to understand, learn and adapt each time.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Rock ...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: make organic music sound bigger !!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My sensitivity, my feelings, my way of seeing the song through the artist. by understanding and surprising him.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: it depends on the project... For a mix, I like to prepare and clean a session, and after I start to mix until the artist and I are satisfied. From a demo, the process is longer and more winding. I work a lot on my side, I suggest things, a direction, I speak with the artist at different stages, if we agree we move forward until the mix is completed.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a studio with control room and recording room. 25m2 each. I use a Midas Legend 3000 for recording and summing, also Neve, UA, Great River, Amek preamps, fx and dynamics hardware. I work on Cubase 11 with UAD Apollo 8p and Motu 16A audio interfaces, and fx and virtual instruments plugins. I use Adam A7x+sub monitors. I use and can provide drum, percussions, guitars, basses, keyboards, fx pedals, amplifiers ...
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: so many musicians and producers... I like the music played by musicians, the interaction between them, the magic that results from it. And especially the moment of grace and concentration necessary for recording. As simple as the song, whatever the means, the gear, only the result counts.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce music, sometimes I only mix but most of the time I start from scratch or from demos to evolve the song with my inspiration and my ideas while always listening to the artist. it's a process of sharing, exchanging and reacting.
