A: Listening carefully, Fast but careful moves when starting, frequent brakes, Mixing by ears and asking myself always what the song needs.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am running Pro Tools through my Tascam US 20X20 console and monitoring the signal to my Yamaha NS10s and Yamaha HS5s. Every rack unit is power up by Furman power conditioners and my main mixing process is hybrid. Getting the best from both worlds is my goal. Digital processing is priceless for specific use and analogue is unique. The studio consists of the control room and the Live room, which is monitored by L'acoustics standard PA. My main gear for the live/recording room is : Marshall 50H origin head, Ampeg SVT CL Bass Head, Orange Crusher 35RT, numerous pedals (including classics like Boss RV-6, DD-6, Strymon Sky, Big Muff etc.). The drum kit is from Pearl with custom made membranes. Instruments include Fender stratocast road worn 69', Fender P-Bass, VGS Eruption series, Fender Telecaster, Danelectro DE 59M, Fender CD 60SCE Acoustic Guitar.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: People like Jacquire King, Tom Misch, Russ and DIY professionals whose skills are outsanding. I've been attending mixing and mastering masterclasses for many years, and i find it very useful in combination with the hard work i do on my own.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording vocals and/or any other instrument at my studio, mixing and mastering.
