Oboist Chanmi Kim was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. As a young girl, she fell in love with
classical music and dreamed of being an opera singer. Later, she discovered the vocal qualities
of the oboe and began to study in earnest. Chanmi has performed concertos with many
orchestras, including the Seoul Youth Orchestra, and has been giving solo recitals since she
was fifteen.
Since moving to the United States she has completed her Bachelor of Music degree at
the New England Conservatory, Boston, MA. Recently she has completed her studies for Professional Studies Diploma and Masters of music at Mannes School of Music, NY, NY.

Chanmi is an active freelancer. As a professional Oboist, She has played with numerous ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Missouri Symphony Orchestra, So&So Ensemble, Regina Opera Company.

Chanmi recently found her love toward improvising with oboe, as well as the passion for Original Sound Tracks.
