Open up, let yourself slip through the cracks and make sure you have a good time. Beyond the Shape is a project by the italian musician and composer Gianvittorio Fallace. The project, born in 2019, has the precise idea of asking a fundamental question on the theme of "shape" in music, how to give music a shape and think music in and beyond it.

In 2017 I composed my first entirely electronic piece, Delirio, and two years later I began my journey in the music scene as Beyond the Shape with two singles: Open and Soliloquio.

Another point of my musical culture is represented by folk and ethnic music, which became the folk band Almaterra, of which I am a founding member, singer, guitarist, arranger. Over Almaterra and italian folk music, I love to take those elements and merge them with electronic music. Indeed my love for ethnic music is visibile also in the project Beyond the Shape, expecially the oriental culture from which it takes several elements. One of the result of the shape question and oriental elements is my new single Gongturbation, which is a trip at the discovery of ourselves, of our inner thoughts, our turbation, throught the vibes of a tibetan gong.

Another, but not least, element of my poetics is the narration throught sound. Each element of my compositions represent a precise part of the narration inside the sound. There is a genesis in the process of creating a song, a piece, wich very precise. It borns as a thought, far away, and grows, evolves, changes and matures to come to an end. The narration in my composition in Beyond the Shape works exactly this way, using the sound and my elements to express itself, to tell a story.
