Interview with HLX

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I worked on a song 'Hiding In The Darkness' that I signed on Controversia Records / Spinnin' with Dallerium & Higher Lane that was supported by Alok multiple times. I was the producer on that record, which almost wasn't a record. The first version didn't sound right to me and I was skeptical about it, but we didn't give up and eventually signed it on Controversia!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am always working on multiple projects and creating new ideas every day...let's just say always cooking!

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Analog 100%! Just sounds more interesting.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I just love it. I like that I can do this from the comfort of my home.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Feel free to reach out first, send me a message if you have any questions related to my services!

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Focus on building the vibe of the track first...vibe is what hooks you first!!

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I usually specialize in Tech-House and Deep House tracks, but I can also work in other genres.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: My strongest skill is definitely sample selection and drum production!

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: So my studio setup is pretty much simple and straightforward. For studio monitors I'm rocking iLoud MTM's that are controlled by Audient EVO 4 interface. When I work outside my studio I'm using my Audio Technica M50X's for production. Nothing too crazy I would say.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: I will definitely mention KREAM, John Summit, CamelPhat and Tchami but also legends like Mike Dean, Metro Boomin and Hans Zimmer.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: The most common type of work I do for my clients is: coaching 1-1, mixing & mastering.
