Spent the last 2 decades mixing and/or producing artists like Passion Pit, Troye Sivan, Goo Goo Dolls, Magic Man, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, letdown., DREAMERS, Bad Wolves, [ALEXANDROS], Gryffin, Maddie Poppe, From Ashes To New, Chain Gang of 1974, Grey Daze and countless others.
I'm primarily offering my mixing services on SoundBetter, though if contacted during the production stages I can also consult or collaborate directly on additional production ideas prior to mixing. Anything that helps get the best sounding song over the finish line. I'm collaborative, I love having direct communication with the artist or producer, hearing their vision for the song (and any song references they may have in mind) and taking it from there.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Alex nails it every time. Great to work with and excellent mix engineer.

Alex took my song quality up several notches and has been really great to work with. I'm extremely happy with the results and will be working with him going forward.

How many stars do you give a guy that makes your dreams come true? I'm going with 5 'cause that is the most I can, but he deserves more.
Alex is talented and cares. Exactly what you need to support your project (or any project for that matter). - check_circleVerified
I can be very picky and detail-oriented when it comes to song production. This is no issue for Alex. His expertise, transparency, and willingness to collaborate is an expert concoction, and his involvement is exactly what my track needed. Thank you, man!

I've been working with Alex on a large 12 song album project and each and every step of the way Alex has proven himself to always get the results beyond what I expected. He has constantly been able to help me work though problems in my own mixes and been such a friendly and professional person though this whole process. Its hard work getting mixes with sometimes 100 plus tracks on them sounding exactly like how I envisioned, and he's knocked it out of the park with it all. 100% Recommend!

Can't say enough good things about Alex! He's always open to conversation and making sure the project ends up being your final vision for the project you bring to him. Very happy I found him in the chaos of the internet.

Alex is a wizard. His mixes elevate my tracks to a new level. I’m very grateful to be working with him.

Working with Alex has been great! He's got a very detailed ear and has years of experience to help you achieve your goals. He took my mix and elevate it to a new level, one that, before working with him I didn't know existed. He's always been a joy to work with, even when my mix needed very subtle changes he always was happy to work on it along side me. He's just a great collaborator and that's not very easily found. I'd definitely recommend him!

Alex does a terrific job. This is the second time I've worked with him. With the first pass, my songs already felt alive and exciting! That's the fun part. He was pretty patient with me taking my time to work with collaborators and make notes, and once I sent them in, he took them in with very specific adjustments. He works quickly, and is happy to make whatever changes to make the song sounding great. Highly recommended

Amazing! He gives a sh!t and sticks with it until it is right. This was my first 'radio ready' track and working through production, mixing and mastering with Alex was a great journey. So much learning and so much leveling up in all aspects of music creation/production for me. Enjoy the ride!

Alex did an outstanding job mixing my instrumental lo-fi track. He skillfully handled the noisy samples and electric guitar parts, delivering a professional mix that sounded clean and balanced. Not only was the quality top-notch, but he worked quickly without sacrificing attention to detail.

Just finished mixing the last song on my album with Alex. Love his approach and style in every mix. He is a true artist. He knows how to find the story in the song and bring it to the next level. I'll definitely work with him again in the future!

Alex delivers great mix after great mix . Can’t go wrong with him . He elevates the song to the next level and easy to communicate with .

4th time working with Alex, and once again he delivered an incredible mix and master! This latest track had more of a pop punk sound, compared to the laid back energy of our previous indie rock / alternative tracks. I was blown away when I heard the first mix - he completely nailed the energy and dynamics of that genre, and we basically went ahead with that first mix.

Alex is a true pro! I love working with him. He brings his creativity and expertise to every project. Having him mix my tracks has been a dream.
Interview with Alex Aldi
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'd have to say the latest Goo Goo Dolls song "Beautiful Lie". I co-wrote, produced, and mixed it. I initially demoed it in 2020, and shared it with the band in 2022, and finally recorded it with them in 2023.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Writing for a few major label artists, and mixing maybe 3-4 songs a week.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I am new to Sound Better, but looking forward to meeting other producers on here!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love mixing a new song every day, it never gets boring when you get to change it up every day.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Them: "Can you master this for me?" Me: "Yes"
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Is the song ready for mix, or does it still need editing, comping, tuning etc?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Been working in music for 20 years- started as a studio intern, which lead to house engineer, then mixing and production shortly thereafter. After 5-6 years I went freelance and have been doing so ever since.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Lately, I'd say Duran Duran. A little dated even for my generation, but their songs and productions were very well crafted.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Taking something that sounds "ok", and making it sound like it's on the radio.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Once I have the client's files and the session is set up, I read their notes, listen to their references, and get to work. I always have those notes/references in the back of my mind while mixing. Once I have something I'm happy with, I send a mix to the client to get their comments on it. Then I incorporate their notes into subsequent mixes until all parties are happy.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital- analog requires maintenance and not very portable!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To keep pushing until everyone involved is super happy with the end result. I am willing to revisit something, no matter how small, to achieve that.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That you can throw all your audio into a mix template and get great results.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Loud and Punchy, with a lot of emotion.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Listen at low volumes, even when producing. It's easier to gauge how the production is taking shape, if the tempo is right, etc. It also really shines a light on vocal tuning issues.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Alt, Indie, Pop, Rock, EDM, Synth Pop etc
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Experience in how to achieve the artist's vision. It sounds cheesy, but being able to understand general artist lingo and translate/execute that is something that only comes with experience.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Nile Rodgers, Diplo, Daft Punk
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Reach out and ask questions!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Genelecs, Apollo, a midi controller, Trinnov
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix in the box and monitor with Genelec 8050's and NS-10's through a Trinnov Nova, and my setup is surrounded by an ASC attack wall.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The bulk of my work is mixing, though often times I'm asked to add some final production to a song before mixing it.
