Hi there! I'm Aubrey - a British singer, producer & songwriter. I have a very powerful, gritty and unique vocal that has been heard on over 500 radio stations worldwide, featured on numerous EDM and pop singles and featured on several TV channels. I have been singing and songwriting for 20+ years and producing for 8 years.

I am currently an in-demand session vocalist in the UK due to my unique and powerful vocals, which have been likened to Annie Lennox/Florence & The Machine.

I offer release ready vocal recordings from my project studio in London. My studio includes the same equipment as major recording studios, including Neumann microphones and Universal Audio pre-amps. I am an experienced top line writer and can either write lyrics from scratch or work from a theme that the client has. As standard, my services will include:

- Major recording studio quality vocal recordings
- All vocals professionally tuned and aligned/synced (if needed)
- Doubling of vocals and harmony recordings as required (as many as you need! No limit!)
- A high quality vocal demo mix using the industry's top plugins and studio outboard
- High quality 24 bit dry (and/or effected) vocal WAV files and any other format you require
- As many revisions as you require - I won't stop until you are 100% satisfied.

My previous clients will testify that I am extremely easy to work with. I communicate quickly and efficiently with my clients, take on board their feedback and have a skill for turning a client's vision into reality. Not only that, but the sound quality is second to none. Go on, give me whirl! You'll be impressed!

Interview with Aubrey Whitfield

What are you working on at the moment?
I've just finished recording vocals and providing top line writing for some acclaimed producers/DJs including Alexis Goldfire, Jermoz and Rentz. I am also producing an award-winning singer-songwriter called Mairead Furlong, as well as producing for British solo artists including Jack Kelly, Lynette Nilsen and This Lonely Stage. I am also writing songs for a new British boy band and about to release my debut EP called 'Code Red'.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
My promise is simple - clients will get a vocal recording or a production that is the same quality as commercial records. Not only that, but my amazing songwriting ability means that the melody and lyrics I write over productions will be highly impressive. Every single one of my clients have re-hired me for other work! I also promise that you will find me a joy to work with. I have a talent for listening to the advice of the clients and turning their vision into something special.
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
I am currently only one of the 4% of female music producers in the UK's Music Producer's Guild. Being a female record producer is a unique selling point for me! But, back in the beginning, I started writing songs at the age of 11 and by the age of 18 I had written 500 songs and had learnt to play the guitar and piano. I played in various bands and signed various deals and set up my own record label, E3 Records, which was one of the most successful independent record labels in north England in the 2000s. I moved to London in 2008 (from Liverpool) to pursue a professional career as a producer, songwriter and singer. I set up a second label called 2ube Records and released 4 self produced and written singles in 2015. One particular remix of my second single 'Every Cloud' by US remixer J.G.F got playlisted on AirWave TV and tonnes of other stations and launched my career as an EDM singer thanks to my raspy, unique and powerful vocal sound. All in all, I've been writing and singing for over 20 years and producing for 8 years. There is a 'buzz' about me in London at the moment as a producer and EDM vocalist and I am working with clients from all over the world. Check out my sound cloud profile to see the international response to my vocals and productions!
What type of music do you usually work on?
For vocal sessions it ranges from EDM (dance), pop, rock, indie and acoustic. For producing it tends to be pop, rock and singer-songwriter. Whatever I work on it tends to have a commercial edge to it.
What's your typical work process?
When recording vocals in my studio I will always record multiple takes of each line until I capture the very best vocal performance. I'll then take time to piece together the best performances from each take to ensure a flawless final vocal. I always double track the lead vocals and add harmony layers to really bring the songs to life. Finally, I take time to manually tune the vocals to make sure they are ready for commercial release.
Tell us about your studio setup.
I own a project studio in South London which has top of the range gear for vocal tracking and mixing. I have the industry standard Neumann U87 microphone which runs through either a Universal Audio Apollo Quad Pre-Amp or a Universal Audio Twin Finity Pre-amp. I own a wide range of plugins from Waves, UAD and Soundtoys, including the SSL channel plugins to give mixes 'that' sound. I also own a range of instruments including a Taylor acoustic, a Fender Tele, Fender Strat and Fender Bass. I also have a stunning Vox ACR guitar amp and the versatile SM57 mic to go with it.
