Interview with Tiny Red Window - SoundLab -

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: Tascam multitrack Recorder, fender rhodes mark II, Yamaha spx50, Moog system 55 and SSL G4000 Stereo Channel Strip.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I´ve been making and producing music for the past 20 years

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: hybrid

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I would like to work with madonna and rosalia both because I think i´d be able to exposed them to a different sound and see what can we do with that.-

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: a simple one: When you need to glue, compress and stylize a drum mix, you can process the audio through an old sampler or a cassette tape and then mix this in parallel with the original.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I usually work with Synthesizer base IDM and Experimental Music. But also I´m use to work with 80´s nostalgic styles like Synthwave, Retrowave, Darksynth

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: i can easily recognize what the musician is trying to accomplish

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I can bring 20 years of experience making and producing music

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: It depends if I am producing, recording, mixing or mastering.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I work in a hybrid environment. I Use a Presonus StudioLive 24.4.2 for mixing and routing. Then I use this external processors: Bellari 282 Dual Compressor, ART pro VLA, Yamaha GC2020 BII, Yamaha SPX90, Yamaha REX50 Ibanez AD100, BOSS RCE-10. For vintage LO FI sound I use : Sampler: YAMAHA A4000, YAMAHA TX16W Sound Desing: YAMAHA CX5MII Tape Compression: YAMAHA MT2X SYNTHS: SIEL EXPANDER 80 ROLAND D-50 YAMAHA TX7 YAMAHA DX27 ARTURIA MINIBRUTE KORG MICROKORG Drum Machines: YAMAHA RX17 ARTURIA DRUMBRUTE ROLAND TR-727

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: the two most common jobs for me are: Help my client choose the type of sound they are looking for and help them finish their track.
