Violin Guitar Vocals Composer

It was a real pleasure to work with Jake recently on the score for my latest feature film. His exceptional musicianship covers a broad range of styles and instruments. He was very adaptable, contributed beautiful ideas and put a lot of heart into the music.

Jake is my go to session musician for any combination of fiddle, guitar and percussion, and he is a great asset both in the studio and on stage. He has an excellent ear, deep knowledge of styles and repertoire from around the world, notably UK/Irish folk and eastern european styles, and can adapt to and enhance the desired outcome of the session/band. Highly recommend.

I have worked with Jake for many years on my compositions and he always finds a way to bring out the song in an intersting and original way whether it is with violin/ orchestral parts or drum tracks. He has also written vocal harmonies and sung backing vocals on my songs and is an acomplished nylon string fingerstyle guitarist. Great work.

I've worked with Jake a number of times in recent years and cannot recommend him highly enough. He has a universal and attentive appreciation for music that slips easily into whatever mood you are hoping to achieve for a given piece. On top of that, a keen sense for both strong melody and harmony that is direct without being derivative and unique without being abstract and always provides good quality recordings. Whatever you're after he's your man, I can't say enough.

Jake recorded about five violin tracks for me remotely during the pandemic. Some of them I had specific ideas and others I just gave him a rough guide of the kind of feel I wanted. In both cases he executed his recordings exactly how I hoped - giving me a few takes to choose from for each track. He is very sensitive to the feel of a song and plays with a lot of style, panache and feeling. I can’t imagine a better violinist to embellish my music. He can play pretty much any genre you’d want. Couldn’t recommend him more highly!!!
