Chris Hamer-Smith has been involved in the music industry for over fifteen years as a producer, mixer, recording artist and DJ.
He has produced two Aria nominated albums with his group Astronomy Class and has produced, mixed, remixed and recorded a plethora of acts from Thundamentals to Hilltop Hoods, Emma Donovan, 360, DJ Nino Brown, Starley, The Bamboos, Elizabeth Rose, Ash Grunwald and Natalie Slade.
Under his dance music alias, Dr Don Don, Chris received international critical acclaim with his brand of chopped up funky and soulful house, garnering support from big names in the industry such as Atrak and Fatboy Slim. He has also collaborated with international acts well renowned in their genres – Gwen McCrae, Gappy Ranks, Fashawn, AG, David Dallas, Blak Twang and Guilty Simpson.
Co-owner of successful independent record label - Low Key Source, Chris has more recently been concentrating his efforts on working with local and international artists on the label roster and running the LKS studio.
Chris can also be found engineering sessions at Universal’s Forbes Street Studio.
