Interview with petebeats
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: L.O.V.E Thy Enemy. (Out on all platforms) This tape had a lot of emotion behind it. My friend and fellow Artist was going through some things so anyone who listened/ listens to this tape immediately gets taken into a euphoric vibe. You feel the emotion and pain behind every piano stroke and verse. Was definitely a masterpiece. My role was the producer
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A beat tape with Ace™️ Dropping an 808-mafia inspired beat tape A project with Z3N *hopefully*
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog, though its expensive. Has a gritty sound, plus analog always trumps digital regarding certain interfaces.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Will guarantee and make sure that you get exactly what you requested.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Freedom of creativity, and just being able to share what I'm going through with others who might be going through the same thing. It's a blessing to know my music has affected someone somewhere.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Is it hard to make a whole instrumental. My answer would be yes, and no. Personally feel that work is only hard if you don't enjoy what you're doing; plus, after over 7+ years of producing music, it's kind of become like riding a bike for me personally.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Beat making/ Music production is oversaturated. There is still a lot of talented creatives all over the world with unique styles.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Tell me exactly what you want, and an example would help if the client wanted something with a personal touch.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Solar Charger, Bluetooth Speaker, Headphones, Studio Monitors (if there's no power available replace this with a Pocket Wi-Fi so I can still receive jobs lol)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Used to make graphic designs at AMG productions KENYA™️ studio. One day decided to try out Fruity Loops, years later it's become my daily passion and I'm a full time beat maker with AMG productions KENYA™️ as well as part of the YouTube partner program.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Melodic, hip hop style. Bouncy, punchy drums.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Young Thug, his energy is one of a kind and it resonates in his music. To work with him would be an honor.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be and stay consistent. Learn/ practice every day and pay attention to what's trending. "1 beat a day"
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip Hop, Trap Soul, Rap, House, Soul
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Piano, but honestly my time efficiency.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Melodic elements and beat structure that's simple for any type of artist to work with.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Soon as I get an 'inspired' I hop on my DAW and let it out. Typical instrumental takes a few minutes (basic mix)

A: FL Studio, Krk rokits, Razer Blade 14", Minifuse, FL keys midi keyboard

A: 300 south
