Interview with Roman English
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Every song should sound simple even tho, it never is
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie pop acts like Tesla Boy and Manizha
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Joy of listening to it. I hate when song doesn't tell the story
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I hear your demo and try to see what you have and what your goals are - and we start from there
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm working in a very cozy place with 60 channel Neve VR board with Flying Faders, ATC speakers and other fun toys. But, i think the most essential part is to trust what you hear, play with music and be able to add character to it. I have those tools, everything else is just there to help.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a huge fan of indie pop music as Bjork, FKA Twigs, The XX, James Blake and so on. I love when someone writes a great song and takes it to a weird side
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing, recording and additional production.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Serve the song
